Let's keep this thread on topic, and talk about Datsyuk's injury. Are there any new updates? Babs texted him and said he is doing "just fine". I'm thinking about buying tickets for the Bruins game on Wednesday, and Datsyuk playing or not is the dealbreaker.

The Metropolitan division is a joke. 21 points is good for 3rd place (NJ Devils) in the metro, but that would get you last in the Central, 6th in the Atlantic, and 6th in the Pacific. That's a playoff spot, correct?

I said this in another thread: Franzen is a "healthy scratch" for these games because Babs is sick of his lazy play. The guy is not engaged, and not playing like everyone knows he can. Whether this is a result of Franzen's lazyness, or some other issue like a mental disorder, remains to be seen.

I believe Franzen was scratched last game because of his play. It was kept quiet in the media, claimed as an injury. But this was a move by Babcock and company to get the Mule going. Now Zetterberg said he is expecting a better Mule.

18 year old Monahan has as many goals as Zetterberg. Hudler has more assists than Datsyuk. But we play a solid 2-way game, right?? Which means we should win 2-1.

Doesn't Helm seem a lot more valuable to this team than Quincey? How can he be valued at less than half of what Quincey is making? Quincey was downright horrible with his penalties and giveaways. If anyone watched him in Colorado, he was the same player there, cross-checking after interference after boarding every game. And for Team Canada in the World Championships? His turnover directly led to a Slovak goal in the game Canada was eliminated. Sure he has size, speed, and a great shot, but he has a lot of killer weaknesses.

I have to agree with this post. The 2nd line of Hudler-Z-Filp has been incredibly soft, and unwilling to grind it out for some goals. Way too many perimeter plays, and they often turn it over with a perimeter pass that sends the other team racing down the ice for an offensive chance. Remember the good old days of Franzen - Z - Cleary grinding out the goals in the playoffs? Well, Franzen is another story.... Cleary has been surprisingly good however considering he is playing on one leg PS. We miss Helm. He would have scored a big goal by now.

What do you think of Jeff Carter? Lots of talk of the Blue Jackets looking to trade him. The only downside is the 10 year contract, but he is only 27, and $5mil might not be that much in 10 years. The BJs traded Voracek and a 1st that turned into Couturier. Holland could realistically trade for him.

Mrazek made 52 saves on 54 shots to eliminate the USA from the World Juniors. Our goalie of the future shutting down the Americans, I'm glad that I'm a Canadian Wings fan! Really excited to see Mrazek get a shot in GR next year. He seems to have the drive and attitude that you just can't teach. Not to mention his crazy goaltending skills. He outperformed former first round pick Jack Campbell hands down.
