One thing Osgood is good at is knocking the net off subtly. Lebda needs to be taking some notes. How sick would it be if Howard could somehow steal the starting job from Ozzy in the next month or two, then come April, the Wings could pull a 07-08 and have super pissed Ozzy come in halfway through the first round to play his typical playoff game. That's exactly the reason that the Wings are struggling. There is a lot of young talent spread throughout the league now, much more so than 2 years ago when the Wings won the cup. This, plus the fact that the Wings havn't added any young, talented players that can make an impact, is the reason we have the record we have, and are struggling to find wins. Leino is the closest thing we have. It seems like these last few years have produced incredibly deep drafts, unfortunately the Wings havn't been able to take advantage with any low first round picks.

Malkin already signed an extension good through 2013-2014 for just over $8 million per. They wouldn't have to trade him for a few years.

This just about sums it up. If Williams was on a line with Gaborik, he would have a good chance of putting up similar numbers.

Fixed. If you mean literally score, then yea the playoffs, but I'm talking about scoring like we know Dats can score(1+ pts per game).

Dats has set up Z plenty of times this season when they have been together, and his shot has been off the mark by quite a bit. I dont know what his problem is. If he was 100%, he would have 4 goals already, and Dats would have assisted all of them. I dont see any hope until Z starts putting them in the back of the net.

Trade Howard + Meech for Ward. Osgood would make a nice backup for this guy. Throw in a 2nd round pick if you absolutely have to. Seriously though, that save was 50% luck.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Without Hossa, Hudler, and Franzen, we have taken a big offensive hit. Id say our defence is average though, not below average.
