Haha ya I remember when he sat on Theodore. I thought for sure there was gonna be a scrum, but it was almost like a football game where the other team came over and gently lifted Bert to his feet and gave him a pat on the ass as he skated away.

Mr Holland agrees with the threadstarter. He said during tonights game that the injury may actually be a good thing in the long run, because now the team will have to grind out wins, and win games 2-1, 3-2. No more scoring a million goals. Then towards the end of the season we will get our most potent goal scorer back.

So I guess they are scratching him just so that he can get used to the system, the new teammates, smaller ice etc before they start his 9 games....to give him a fair shot of staying in the AHL this year.

I think we can win. We are at home, looking to rebound on a tough start to the season, and Dats and Z are back together to work their magic. If they can shut down the Caps first line, then we have a great shot at it.

I figured Babs would reunite Dats and Z to counter that Semin - Backstrom - Ovie line. If you shut them down, who is going to score for the Caps??

Thats not good. Torn ACL....it will take longer than 4 months for him to get back to 100%. He may not ever be the same.

Ive got to agree with you here. He doesnt set up plays in the zone, isnt very good defensively, and by the time he gets his ass in front of the net, Dats or Franzen have lost the puck already.

I agree. He is only good when used on the PP and he can just park in front of the net. The Dats - Franzen - Homer line isnt working because Datsyuk is the only good passer, and they cant get sustained pressure. To make it work, you need to have a more skilled passer playing with Datsyuk (like Zetterberg). What I would like to see is: Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Holmstrom Leino - Filppula - Franzen Cleary can share time in place of Leino or Homer.

Looks like Howard is getting the start over Ozzie. Why would the Blues have Conklin start over Mason? He had a killer game yesterday. -
He has a unique fighting style, leaves himself open for a lot of shots but he is very quick throwing with both hands.

How do you know that Babcock wants him and Holland is against him? He seemed to be a decent player in the games he played, why not sign him and let him patrol Grand Rapids with the occasional call up?
