    new RFA compensation numbers

He has great offensive abilities and is improving each year. He has a lot of potential that he is working towards as he learns the game at the NHL level.

If You Think Hudler's NOT worth $3 Million...

It is a win-win situation for the Wings. Resign Hossa for 4 mil is a great deal, and it that doesnt happen, then we will resign Hudler to fill his place as an offensive stud on the top 2 lines. Look at a similar player, Martin St. Louis. Hudler has 3 full season under his belt with the big club: 25 pts (15G), 42 pts (13G), and 57 pts (23G). Now for St. Louis' first full 3 seasons with the big club: 18 pts (3G but only 56 games), 40 pts (18G), 35 pts (16 G) in 53 games. Pretty close stats if you extrapolate St Louis to play in more than 50 or so games. And St Louis went on to multiple 80+ pt seasons, including one 100 pt season and multiple 30+ goal seasons. Hudler has a lot of potential, he is a young player with elite offensive talents who is learning how to play in the NHL. Give him top 2 line minutes with solid players around him and he will produce.

    When in doubt, appeal.

Try not to be so Democratic. This mess was not created by republicans nor democrats. It was created by a whole lot of greedy people in positions of power (republicans and democrats included).

If You Think Hudler's NOT worth $3 Million...

Hudler is an elite offensive talent. He would have been a top draft pick if not for his size. He is only in his 3rd full season with the Wings and has been making great improvements each year. He is really a question mark as to where he will end up, but each year he is getting more experience and also improving his game, I could see him getting 30 goals next year if given the chance on the top 2 lines. Plus he has great vision and can make a great pass. Put him on a line with 2 skilled guys who can play defence and Hudler will do great things! Just not with Zetterberg because he is a very similar player to Hudler (offensively). I dont want to see a player with Hudler's potential let go, hopefully we can resign him cheap!!
  5. QFT. He is one of the better ones out there.

    Heatley to the Chicago Blackhawks

Ottawa could really use an offensive defenseman like Cambell. I think this trade might be likely. Throw in some draft picks somewhere.

'Lack of Urgency' vs 'Couldn't Give Anymore'

    Where is this list??

What would people think about getting these players?

    Probably from the Russian NT.

    Phoenix still busy

What is up with Prucha? I havnt followed him much, but how did he go from a 30 goal scorer in his rookie year, to 20 goals his second year, to 7 and 6 goals his next 2 years. Looking at his stats, his shooting percentage was 23% when he got 30 goals. To me this just looks like he was running hot for that year.

    Sedin's want the Zetterberg deal

Ya they have Cody Hodgson who played in the OHL this year, and now is with the Manitoba Moose. After the OHL season, he was only able to play the AHL Playoffs with the Moose, and he put up 6 points in 11 games. Not bad for his first go at the AHL level. He is a great player with tons of skill, I was lucky enough to see him in action this year in the OHL.

    draft?

They're not that small, but they play a lot smaller! Flip is one of the softest Wings and from what Ive seen of Leino, he isnt far behind.

    Marian Hossa, merged

Hossa came so close 2 years in a row now, it is unbelievable. I think there is a chance he will sign with the Wings for 2 years 2 mil/year just so he can have a legit shot at winning.

    A Datsyuk with Destiny

Not only is getting Datsyuk back huge for the Wings for obvious reasons, but it also sends a guy like Fil back down to the 2nd or 3rd line, increasing our depth, and making those lines stronger than they were with Dats out. This has a big effect.

    Detroit Red Wings/Griffins = Classy

Ya Zetterberg had a nice dive tonight on Crosby's slash. Classy. But hey, what goes around comes around I guess.

    No Pavel, No Cup

This is exactly what I said before the series started! We need Pavel to win this series. These teams are closely matched as it is, Pavel is the difference maker. His defensive play, offensive play, and his skills on the powerplay are greatly missed.

    Malkin's penalty rescinded (merged)

    Double post.

    Malkin's penalty rescinded (merged)

What comes after the etc....??? Or is this the grey area that says this rule does not apply to Malkin and Crosby? 2 goals down with 19 seconds to go. The game is over. So Malkin got off by not having any previous incidents? So by that logic, everyone gets 1 free pass. I'm too lazy to look it up, but who has this rule been enforced on? Who has had to sit out 1 game for receiving an instigator in the final 5 minutes? Were they awarded 1 free pass?? This is BS. But ya, its ok for Dats and Lids to miss one game for not going to the All Star Game injured.

My heart goes out to Datsyuk

    What?? How do you know?
  19. under_par_00

Pavel Datsyuk, Kris Draper remain out for game 2

Semin was able to play on a broken foot in these playoffs right??? We will not see Dats for the rest of this year. And if we do, he will not be 100%. It is sad that this, of all people, happens to Datsyuk. Probably the hardest working and nobody is in better shape than he is. That is how he is able to play so many games in the regular season year after year. Then a stupid unlucky shot to the foot twice takes him out of the Stanley Cup Finals.

How important is the effect of our PP/PK in this series

With Dats being out it will hurt our PP. Although Filppula is a good replacement.

Only one reason to calm your nerves...

We've all seen what Hossa can bring when he is skating hard every shift and trying his hardest. We have also seen what he can be like when he is just coasting through games (plenty of examples in these playoffs) I fully expect Hossa to be a freaking machine out there tonight, just watch what he can do. He is going to be trying so hard, this is what he is here for, a cup, and no better than to beat his former team in the finals. Who is going to shut Hossa down?? Gill?? Gonchar?? lol.

    Stanley Cup Finals Discussion Thread

Dats is huge for us in this series. He will be responsible for shutting down Malkin/Crosby. He is a big loss defensively for us. And that is the key to winning the series, shutting those 2 down. Not to mention his skills on the PP. I very much think that a healthy Dats is the difference in this series. Please prove me wrong, because I dont see Dats playing game 1 or 2, and that is being optimistic.

Game 1: Lidstrom will play, Ericsson questionable

Have you guys seen the clips over at TSN of Datsyuk practicing?? He can hardly skate, and has no power from that injured foot. I don't see him coming back for a while. He is a key player to shut down Malkin and Crosby. I will be confident in the Wings with Dats in the lineup. Now I am very nervous. Hossa better step it up big time (like his last 2 games).
  24. under_par_00

    HOH appreciation thread

Hossa will hopefully continue to play hard against his former team in the finals. I look forward to seeing more of him playing like this, he is insane!!

McKeon: Geez, not ANOTHER Wings-Penguins Cup final...

Isn't that kinda like what Dallas did last year??? Zetterberg got the Conn Smythe....lol.
