I would like to give Filppula a chance at center to set up Z on the wing. But we know that will never happen. Maybe Hudler could be given another shot at the 2nd line on Zetterberg's wing?

Datsyuk is the best forward in the league.

I know, I went to one game last year, it sells out nearly every game if not every game, me and my roomates have tried getting tickets multiple times and it is always tough. Going to be even harder with Tavares there now.

Give Filppula some good minutes with some good wingers and he WILL produce. I cant imagine what a Franzen-Filppula-Hossa line would look like out there backing up a Z-D-H line!!

Valid point, but the same can be said for a lot of the Wings this year.

Filppula isn't doing that much worse than last year. Last year he had 36 points in 78 games (0.46 PPG). Playoffs he had 11 points in 22 games (0.5 PPG). This year he has 15 points in 35 games (0.42 PPG) while playing on the 3rd line, with the 3rd defensive pairing, and zero PP time. I think he is a great player, he can hold onto the puck well in the offensive zone, has decent speed, and has a few nice moves. Similar in many ways to Datsyuk. Fil is defensively responsible, and I think if he could ever center a line with Hossa and Franzen, or 2 quality players, his production will go way up.

I think Z will sign for very close to Dats money.

I love how we can score 6 goals without a single point from either Zetterberg or Hossa.

The Wings are taking it easy out there. Most havn't been finishing checks, or going hard every shift. Where are all of Kronwall's hits? He had almost one huge hit per game in the playoffs. The team is still getting the job done, and I think they are going to stop laying off when it really matters. If you watch San Jose, they are going hard every shift, finishing checks and doing what it takes to dominate. What do you think?

Ive only seen a few games, the Edmonton one on HNIC, vs the Wings, and 1 or 2 others.
