4/8 GDT: Blackhawks 4 at Red Wings 2

And they call it NO GOAL!!! ahahaha On another note, I was browing Stubhub and came across a $50 lower bowl centre row 12 ticket. I thought a bit about it, then was going to buy it and it was gone!! Which one of you assholes took it

    Zetterberg leaves against Carolina

This is where I got it from: I did not see this on TSN, I was asking if anyone else could confirm.

    Zetterberg leaves against Carolina

I think that it was a broken foot. It worries me that TSN said he is expected to miss round 1. I hope that doesn't mean this is a serious injury, but they will force him back in the later rounds. Can anyone confirm what TSN said? I did not hear this, and the article on their website about the injury doesn't really give a timeline.

4/8 GDT: Blackhawks 4 at Red Wings 2

Trying to find a ticket or two to this game, but damn this one of the most expensive games of the year!! Debating on a single for $50 behind Crawford row 19 upper. Best deal by far out there.

    Zetterberg leaves against Carolina

Can anyone get any screencaps of the injury? I want to see if it was his ankle or his knee, cause no one is sure. Initially, I thought it looked like his knee. The reports say he was wearing a knee brace, but this could just be a clever ploy to hide his ankle injury. Which is it? Obviously it is not serious, but I think a high ankle sprain would be the worst (longest lingering) case. This happens when your ankle twists with the foot going outwards. If it is a knee sprain, slap a brace on there, maybe some painkillers, and Z will be good to go. Hopefully it won't cause any long term damage playing on it.

    Babcock healthy-scratch decisions

I really hope this happens too. I think it is a good possibility.

    Team MVP?

Without a doubt, Datsyuk. The only reason not to vote for him would be all the time missed due to injuries. Honorable mention: Zetterberg Lidstrom Helm

    Hmm something I noticed

Do you think this is possible? Modano has flashes of great play, and maybe since he will likely retire after this year, he will really give it his all in his final playoff run.

4/2 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Predators 3 (OT)

I agree with everything except I missed the Franzen hustle. I saw him floating a bit, and he let up on a few hits. He can definitely bring it harder than this.

Datsyuk and Howard both have setbacks

Looks like that article was removed. I've read numerous other reports that had Howard saying he was "good to go". Also, this team needs Datsyuk 100% to have any shot at it. I hope whatever is troubling him is not going to linger around.

    3/31 GDT

Great tilt between Lucic and Rosehill in the Boston v Toronto game. Funny, I didn't think Lucic would be up for a fight against Rosehill. Good for him to step up.

As far as I know, there is no salary cap for the coaching staff. Holland should offer Hitchcock something ridiculous like $5mil a year to come coach the defense.

3/30 GDT: St. Louis Rams 10 at Detroit Lions 3

Oh God, Murphy has drunk himself into submission during this performance. Stumble stumble slur slur burp!

    The NHL Injury Thread

Kopitar out for the rest of the year with torn ankle ligaments. Initially they thought it was a broken ankle, but an MRI revealed torn ligaments. Ouch. Real tough break for LA and Kopitar. Hopefully he comes back strong next year. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=359897

    Rafalski

I had to leave shortly after Rafalski was injured. It looks like he came back to finish the game, because he played 16:31, but how long is this guy going to last on one leg? I know he is a warrior, and has played through back injuries before, but this has to be a major concern going into the playoffs? Tape it up real good and get out there? Do you think he will still be effective? That knee can't feel good, and each game he is doing more damage.

    Jiri Hudler Watch Thread

Modano looks great on Fil's wing as long as he stops taking wristers from the blue line. That is the perfect 3rd line behind Dats/Franzen/Bert and Huds/Z/Cleary

    Abdelkader

You're right, I had no idea who Boyce was. I thought he looked much smaller than Abdelkader. I watch the Leafs quite a bit and have never seen him fight.

Long live the Zetterberg - Hudler connection!

    Abdelkader

Funny, it seems Tatar can handle himself better than Abdelkader. This guy is not a fighter. Terrible form tonight against a liteweight Boyce.

    Student Tickets

I have never tried for the student rush tickets (I really should sometime though). But I can guarantee that tonight's game will be sold out so you probably won't be able to get any. As for scalping tickets, there are always scalpers but tonight's game will be the most expensive game of the year.

Pavel Datsyuk optimistic he'd skate today

Pavel not playing until the playoffs I hope this injury is nothing serious, it is seeming more and more like it is though. We need Datsyuk 100% healthy if we are going to make any sort of run. I will write this team off for an early exit right now if he is not healthy.

    Jiri Hudler Watch Thread

Overall game, yes Filppula would be a better comparison for Datsyuk. Offensively, I (and we) think Hudler is a better comparison. Either way I think the combination of Hudler and Zetterberg together would look great out there. Zetterberg wouldn't have to do all the creative work offensively that he does when he is on a line with people like Cleary and Bertuzzi.

    Jiri Hudler Watch Thread

The way I see it would be like this: Hudler is Datsyuk-lite as far as passing is concerned. Filppula is Datsyuk-lite as far as dangling is concerned. Filp can dangle, but he does not have the vision, accurate pass, or saucer that Hudler has. Hudler's passing is sublime out there, I suggest you watch him in the neutral and offensive zone more closely. He is always finding the open man, leading through pass, or perfect saucer through the lanes. Filp can dangle, hang onto the puck, and fly with his skating ability. His passing is OK, and offensive vision is OK, but no where near the level of Hudler.
