Nabokov getting the start tonight? Soon enough
-
So let me get this right. If Nabokov is picked up on waivers, he can be traded to the Wings, only after going through waivers again. Couldn't the Wings just grab him on waivers the second time and then not have to trade for him? That doesn't make much sense. Or maybe in the rules it would say that if Detroit is trying to trade for him, then they do not get a shot at him on waivers.

Gaborik was recently called out by Torts and benched for a period or two. Now he hustling again and what better team to put up results against than the Maple Leafs. Maybe he will take it easy now after 4 goals in under half the game.
-
You've got that mixed up, Staios is $2.7 mil and Regehr is $4 mil signed for another 2 years after this one. Regehr would be a solid pickup for this team, but I dunno how to get him and clear the $4 mil.

Great hit. Check your periphs Hall!!

super unreliable rumor about Daniel Larsson
under_par_00 replied to Rick Zombos Ghost's topic in General
Hmm, interesting. I saw let Larsson be backup for a while till Ozzy is healthy. -
Meh, this isnt as bad as someone like Datsyuk, Cleary, or Stuart going down. I'd almost rather have someone like Tatar in the lineup, who is half Homer's age, and full of piss and vinegar. We will miss Homer's screening ability, but Abs/Franzen/Eaves will have to move into that roll.

Not to mention Alfy doesn't play centre.

World Junior totals for Pulkkinen: 6 GP 3 G 6 A 9 PTS +2 Finland disappointingly fell in the quarterfinal to a late 3rd period Russian comeback. I saw a few Finnish games, Pulkkinen looked good out there. Hopefully he continues his good form in the league.
-
There is no way that he gets nothing. As a repeat offender, and a clearly dirty blindside hit to the head, he will get a few games.
-
Sorry guys, I just don't think there is any chance the Wings will win this one. I'll be watching from the poker room. Someone's got to win.
-
This season is only half way over, I don't know how anyone could say that we have escaped the injury bug. Last season it hit early, this season...well it's hitting.
-
Eberle is out for sure. Wings should win.
-
Visentin came through with a very solid game in net, and Canada checked the USA right out of the game in the first 2 periods. Great performance from Canada! Anytime you Americans need to learn a thing or two about hockey, you know where to go.
-
Going to be a good game tonight for sure. I am not sure who is going to win, but definitely cheering for Canada. Either Canada's physical play is going to win it for them, or Campbell is going to win it for the USA. Campbell is a great goalie, definitely way better than Visentin and Roy combined.

Haha thanks, I thought I may have forgotten one. I wasn't all there last night if you know what I mean, haha. I saw Jarnkrok's dirty 2 on 1 assist. It looked real nice, but havn't seen much of Pulkinnen. I think the Fins will go far in this tournament, so I look forward to that.

Considering that the IIHF is a lot more strict on these kinds of hits than the NHL, and that Kassian's shoulder made direct contact with the Czech's chin (watch his head whip around before his body is hit), this is definitely not a clean hit. Add to the fact that it could be considered a late hit. The only reason no penalty was called instantly was because none of the refs had seen it (since it was a late hit!).

I want to see Hudler given a legitimate shot at the top 6. Give him a chance with Zetterberg and Cleary/Holmstrom. It's now or never for Hudler to produce.
-
How do you think the Wings will do without Dats?
under_par_00 replied to #19=Legend's topic in General
I think that Zetterberg is expected to score more goals around here. He is on pace for 28 goals this year when he has already had 41, 39, 33, and 31 goal seasons. Those 4 years he never played 82 games, missing an average of 9 games per year. If he misses 9 games this year, then he is on pace for only 25 goals. I think that Hudler will step up with Datsyuk out. He should get a lot more time on the top 2. Team defense is not as good as in previous years, as evident by Lidstrom's -1! Again, Zetterberg is not on pace for nearly as many goals this year as previous seasons. -
Datsyuk out 4-5 weeks with broken bone in hand
under_par_00 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
What is the reason for not putting Datsyuk on the LTIR? I don't understand. -
Wings have won every game this season that I have attended (4-0). I have been looking for a well priced pair of tickets for this one for a few days. Should I continue my search or have I jynxed it? Time will tell.

After this abysmal performance against the Hawks, how confident are you that the Wings will turn it on tomorrow night and get Ozzy his 400th win at home? Apparently they did request to Babcock that Ozzy play the home game instead of Chicago.

How certain are you that the Wings will get Ozzy his 400th?
under_par_00 replied to under_par_00's topic in General
I closed the poll due to all of the idiots now voting for Dallas and skewing the results! I think at gametime only 4 people had voted that Dallas would win. I honestly thought that the Wings would win, and they were saving their energy against the Hawks the game before. The fact that they still lost is very scary for me. This team needs to step up their game. -
I know nothing about this guy but his stats at U of M look like he could be a solid player: GP G A Pts PIM 2007-08 U. of Michigan CCHA 41 11 11 22 28 2008-09 U. of Michigan CCHA 41 13 18 31 32 2009-10 U. of Michigan CCHA 45 19 31 50 34 2010-11 U. of Michigan CCHA 19 9 10 19 27
