I'm surprised everyone is already saying the Z,D,H line is the best in the entire league. We aren't even sure if they will be playing together. Or, if they do play together, we don't even know if they will have good chemistry. Only time will tell. My favorite lines to watch were: Heatley - Spezza - Alfredsson Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Hull Tanguay - Forsberg - Hejduk Maltby - Draper - McCarty Prospal - Lecavalier - St. Louis Ovechkin - With - Anyone Naslund - Morrison - Bertuzzi

I still think he looks like the little Japanese guy from "The Last Samurai" Lol.

Holmstrom's ass. It spends more time in the crease, and is better at deflecting the puck. Lol McCarty (in his prime) v.s. Avery (in his prime)?

Easily the Toronto Maple Leafs. Hands down. If anyone has ever heard a Leaf game telecast with Joe Bowen......... oh my f***in God. That is the single most annoying man in hockey. He yells holy Mackinaw for ANYTHING the Leafs do well. A save, a goal, a big hit, blah blah. He has the most annoying cackle of a laugh and he knows f*** all about the game if it isn't about the Leafs. Also the Leaf fans are the most annoying fans. Their team hasn't won a Cup in over 40 years and they still cant stop talkin about how the Leafs are the greatest team in the league, the greatest franchise in the league blah blah. They are the most arrogant and ignorant fans I have ever met. I could go on and on. They have the worst team, ownership, fans, announcers, etc. From top to bottom they are the most annoying everything.

Lmao. Jason Chimera.

This is why I wish that Brett Hull still played. Imagine how devastating this team would have been this past year with Hull still on the right wing. God Damn.

I compare debates like these, to when friends have babies. They always ask "Do you think he looks more like the mother or father??" It is a pointless question. The baby was just born, how the hell can you make a judgement like that? Wait 10 - 15 years and then ask. Same goes for sports atheletes. You can't judge rookies or sophomores based on a few years in the league. Give them 5+ years and then try again. But if I absolutely must choose for arguements sake. I will go out to left field here and say Tavares.

I would have loved to have put Peca on there, but he was recently re signed by Columbus, so he was off the market. And I just used available names at the time. I would have loved to have seen this thread on July 1st. Then some really good projections could have been made. Right now we are scraping bottom. Lol Although if Sakic retired, I would have changed my answer to have Sundin signed. Top 3 centres as Sundin, Stastny, Fedorov. and still have tons of cap space? Damn.

Lol, your absolutely right. While we are at it let's let him play til he is 50. That way, we will not only lose Kyle Quincey this year, but Jonathan Ericsson and others in the next few years, due to Chelios "earning" his place on defence. Because Chelios is so valuable as a mentor while he is playing. He gets to talk to the player beside him in between shifts. Watching the play and waiting for a change. Thats way better than having him BEHIND the bench, watching the ENTIRE game. Being able to talk to every single player as the game progresses. STILL being a locker room presence, STILL being a mentor during practice, STILL being a veteren leader. Who needs to give their young players icetime? Detroit won the Stanley Cup with the help of Chelios..........er...........uh...... wait a minute, wasn't he scratched for every single second of the Finals? Interesting move by the coaching staff. But they probably didn't see the upside of having him in the lineup that you obviously saw. If anything, I would sign Chelios to a TWO WAY contract. You wanna talk about leadership? He can lead the Griffins. Teach ALL the young defencemen. Then his "mentoring" would be put to use in game situations. That, I would be happy with.

K I will be GM of the Avs. Starting with a cap of $40.575M. Leaving me $16.125M to work with. First things first. Tell Forsberg to GO HOME. Then trade Guite, Arnason and Leopold for picks. That would free up another $3.175M Sign Jason Smith($1.976M) to take Leopold's place. Sign Selanne ($1.5M), Rucinsky ($3M) and Fedorov ($4M). I would be crying at the skeleton list of free agent goalies. So I'd be forced to keep Budaj and Raycroft. The cap I would be left with would be $47.401M, giving me plenty of wiggle room at the deadline. My roster will look like this: Smyth - Stastny - Hejduk Rucinsky - Fedorov - Selanne Wolski - Sakic - Svatos Tucker - McCormick - Laperriere. Foote - Liles Smith - Hannan Clark - Salei Budaj Raycroft Everyone woud be signed to 2 year deals.

Lol obviously that is the way to do it, but thats no fun. This way you try to see if you CAN make the quick fix. I think it's a good idea for a thread.

damn. I was hoping the Ducks wouldn't pick anyone else up. They lost McDonald to get Weight, then they lost Weight. I was so happy to see that. Now.......... not so much.

Ever since Barret Jackman stole the Calder Trophy away from Zetterberg, I have been bitter towards the whole thing. Lol. Then I was hoping that Grigorenko would storm the league and take the trophy, but then he turned into a complete flop right from training camp. But if I had to bet money on it, I would go for Stamkos. Who knows, maybe McCollum could take it in a few years.

Keep him as an assistant coach. He does not belong on the ice anymore.

I argued that exact same point in another thread and the mods closed it down. I still want to see Downey AND McCarty playin, so they can share the workload. Drake helped out last year. Who is gonna help now??
