Why Hossa, Zetterberg, and Franzen will all return.

When this happens the Wings will have 7.45 to put toward a goaltender. I would like to see how Howard/Larsson pan out before tossing a huge chunk of cash at a goaltender who may or may not play well seeing a limited amounts of shots per game. -

Not much in the way of logic here, but it's a nice idea. If Detroit can keep both for cheap, then great. I would personally take Franzen at 3.5 and Hossa at 6 if we can only have one of them. I jump on either of those deals. I think that both players are great and bring something unique to the team. In the event that they lose Franzen, I think Cleary fills in for him as a net-presence. He's not as good as Franzen, obviously, but I still feel that he could suffice. -
I have a hard time feeling bad for Legace. He's like a guy who just got dumped by his girlfriend and is moping in his bed. That being said, I still wish him the best of luck. Thanks for being Mr. October for us.

The sad part is that the team is actually going to be able to make a healthy run soon, if not this year. It almost seems like a waste to have an up-and-coming team in a market that cannot/does not appreciate it. Plus, if the team is in a more popular market then more people will see Gretzky's head blow up when Dats pwns his team.

It's the 21st century... mancrushes are totally acceptable. I am man enough to admit I have a mancrush on Henrik Zetterberg. Maybe some people just worried that their mancrushes will escalate?

The day Ken Holland gives Samuelsson 3mil I become a Leafs fan. Filppula getting 3mil a year is overpayment because he will gradually become worth more than the deal. Samuelsson has reached his ceiling and I think that given he's getting 1.2mil now the MAX he should get is 2mil. Make no mistake, he's playing great now... but he's not worth 3mil. Then again, I don't think Cleary is worth 2.8mil either... but his injuries have served as an excuse for now.

Man, I like Kopecky and all but... Helm/Leino>Kopes. I just don't see how you can ignore the skill of either of those two guys. Ideally I'd love to see Sammy go down a line, thus creating the Newfie Finns (Cleary-Filppula-Leino) Muah ha ha...

Helm would be wasted as the 13th forward... he's either got a regular spot on the team or high-quality minutes down in GR.

Lack of speed, bad penalties and a checkered past? He's been offered a contract out of respect and because of nostalgia. He has a better touch around the net than Downey does but other than that... meh? -

Yeah, but with the 2 way he'd be sent down to GR. No one would claim him on waivers. With the cap situation only one of he or Downey could be up at one time... if that. -

No, but with his apparent two-way contract he would make that with the Griffins when sent down. -
I have a hard time liking any other actually team, though I do like individual players. I guess if I were going to pick anyone it'd be Washington. Ever since Ovechkin came into the league I've been a big fan of his. Still have a lot of love for Fedorov and I've liked the emergence of Mike Green as well. It's too bad they've got Theo instead of Kolzig now, though.
