I don't really want to get into a debate here, since I think ANY support for the Wings is great. But did one of the women here equate calling a woman hairy to a man having a small penis? I think it would be more suited if a guy said you had large genitalia for a woman. If a guy shaves his arms or legs, a lot of woman would go, "oh, you're kind of faggy". So if a guy goes, "wow, you're hairy for a woman," it kind of goes both ways. My personal opinions aside, I don't think it's necessary for anyone to insult anyone else. Let's all just support the Wings and leave the no-no parts of our bodies out of it

5-2 for the Wings... Filppula gets a hat trick to prove he's got more "Finnish" than Jokinen.
-
Here's hoping Ozzie can pack in another solid game. Like to see the bottom two lines continue their success as well.
-
One of his goals was PP. No +/- on a special teams goal.
-
I can only assume that when Kopecky saw his lover fellow countryman go down... it lit a fire deep inside.
-
I'm not complaining at all. It does wonder for stress levels when I don't go, "What the !@#$ Kopecky/Flip/Ozzie"
-
Kopecky = 3 Points Filppula = 1 Goal Osgood = Shutout ... This Is MADNESS!!!

I definitely think the Wings are looking at Havelid. I think they might try to move a defenseman and a pick for him, as the defensive logjam still exists. A solid core for next season would be. Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Lilja-Ericsson Meech Chelios will sign with another team, and I would propose that Lebda be moved. It'd be better to hang onto Meech just because of his versatility. I don't necessarily think he's better than Lebda.

What this video tells me is that Filppula is really quiet and gets pushed around

Jerome Iginla - He's said to be one of the most personable guys off the ice in the entire league and yet I can't bring myself to like him. Of course, if he were on the Red Wings things would likely be different. Same with Chris Pronger, only I think the dislike is meritted there.

Can you really say that Kindl doesn't have a higher ceiling than Ericsson? Kindl projects as a #1-2 defenseman, capable of quarterbacking a powerplay and great outlet passing. On the other hand, Ericsson is a #4 defenseman at best. The guy is a strong defensive defenseman who has a big shot. Have you watched him enough to realize that at the NHL level he gets beat wide a lot? He's not very fast at all. Right now Ericsson is likely the better of the two, but in the long run Kindl will be the better defenseman. Mursak that high is a bit iffy. I'd say Mursak or Axelsson have the highest offenseive "potential". The entire list is based on potential, not actual play. HF has guidelines for their writers. Guys who project as grinders, guys who are older and guys who have had off-ice issues are ranked lower (Ryno). If you've watched GR so much then you'd also know that part of Mursak's struggle has been adapting to the grind of the AHL, along with being a healthy scratch and receiving lower end minutes. No one's going to agree completely with rankings, obviously.

In Helm's case his "potential" is as a 3rd/4th line grinder. Leino is already 25 so he's likely reached his potential. The list is more about projection than anything.
-
The list is based more on overall potential than anything. It takes into account where guys are in their careers too, looks like. A lot of GR guys are higher up, but it looks more than anything that forwards with more offensive potential are higher up. The writer explained his reasoning in a thread on HFboards. It's just how they rank people on that site.

I really hope the signing order is Hossa then Hudler. I love the Mule and I'm happy for everything he's done, but I think Hudler can be had for less cash. This team already has great defensive forwards... they have guys who will go to the net. I think Hudler brings a level of offense that has potential to be better than Franzen's. At this point I would love to see Holland fit this line-up under the cap for next season: Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Hudler-Filppula-Hossa Leino-Helm-Cleary Maltby-Draper-Kopecky (Could be anyone for Kopecky, may not be re-signed) Lidstrom-Rafalski Kronwall-Stuart Lilja-Ericsson Osgood Howard I think that's a very solid line-up. I'd drop Maltby and maybe Draper, but the Wings won't do that. I still feel that amidst Flip's "lack of production" that he's got great upside. That whole second line does.

This is amazing because it's a big deal for the Wings to be on 3 minutes in on TSN's Sportscentre... let alone ESPN, lol.

I have to admit that a lot of D-men have stepped up this year. Maybe Lidstrom is wearing down a bit. Guys like Green, Chara, Boyle, etc. are all having very good seasons. Nick has given many great years to the Wings, but this year he's not a Norris winner (at this point). If he goes on a tear then he's got a great shot. Gotta respect the other D-men having a great year though.

While Leino isn't a typical "net front" presence, he sure has good timing with his screens.
-
Wow... what a play.
-
Agreed. Keep the foot on the accelerator boys.
-
Hudler's stickhandling work in tight has really improved. He had a lot of patience and poise on that goal.
-
Agree with Leino being a puckhound. That shift really impressed me. If you can't score at least keep the puck in the offensive zone.
-
Cleary's goal just gives further proof that any damage to the testicles creates super powers. Lance Armostrong... Phil Kessel... Dan Cleary.
-
I'd like to see a convincing win. Something along the lines of a 6-1 slapping. Z gets at least three points. "Babcock indicated that defenseman Jonathan Ericsson, who's been battling a wrist injury, will be recalled soon from AHL affiliate Grand Rapids."
-
As easy as it is to rip on Kopecky, I really don't think he's all that bad. If you watch closely he finishes the majority of his checks and isn't a bad skater. In his time on a line with Hudler and Filppula I actually thought he looked good.

This is just a ploy to win over Hossa. "Yeah Marian, we're going to re-sign Tomas too, don't worry guy." It's kind of like when a woman promises more "fun time" once you're married... next thing you know you're trapped in an 8 year/6mil contract with limited to no "fun time". True story.
