Babcock Interview + Jagr to Detroit Rumor

Thanks, but my question, is Jagr being sold to Wings Fans as them being his first choice, and a good fit?

Babcock Interview + Jagr to Detroit Rumor

Hey Wings fans, it's been a long time. So in Pittsburgh the Jagr Watch is dominating the airwaves. I read a little from LGW, but find it easier to just ask the question. What are you all hearing in regards to him and signing him? In Pittsburgh it is said that his preferred destination is the Penguins. He loves the Team, City, Ownership, Coaches. He would love to finish in Pittsburgh. Playing with Crosby and Malkin would be great. Are you all hearing the same? Has his agent been interviewed by EVERYONE and their mother. Just curious. Be well.

Yzerman, Hull, Robitaille named to Hall of Fame

Congrats Stevie Y. Well deserved. Luc and Hull as well. Although Stevie Y is the ONE.

    Franzen

This actually quoted the wrong part of this, but... I never understood the whole, "The players union wouldn't like it, so a top tier player cannot take league minimum". Mind you, especially with the cap, it would defeat the purpose of having a cap, but isn't the players paycheck just that...His? And what exactly would the union do if someone, say Hossa, took 1.5 mil for 6 years with the Wings? Would he be blacklisted from union events? I never got this...

Rumor: Hossa leaving after this season

I wasn't here because of anything that was said by anyone. I am a Pens fan with great respect for the Wings and Stevie Y. I was just curious what was being said on the signings front. I hear Z my be close, but I also see that you all are sort of where we were last season.

Rumor: Hossa leaving after this season

I have no idea how you all take info coming from Eklund, and I am not sure where I stand with it... but tonight I asked him what he has heard about Detrioit and who they were going to sign between Hossa and Fanzen, and he said neither?!?!?!? I didn't get that. Why would they lose both? Are they that tight to the cap?

Sidney Crosby is leading by the example

That is truely classic. I like that. Painful that he left, but funny. Now, can we please practice adding the H at the end of my city's name... ummm okay, yeah thanks.

Sidney Crosby is leading by the example

Why do you all hate us so much? Sid grew up in the spotlight of the NHL, and yes whined, but that doesn't make him or us eternal whiners. Geno's frustration was a result of the Wilds commitment to the playing style of the 90's N.J. Devils. Man that was painfull to watch, can't imagine playing in it. The Steelers O-line does suck. The D wins games. One caller does not equal all of us. And lastly it's PittsburgH. For the love of the Hockey Gods there is an H in Pittsburgh. Before torching me on this remember I am here as a Fan of the Wings (second to the Pens), and Hossa. Not to ruin or invade your fine site. And I made no mention of the Lions (until now). Begin flaming in three... two... one...

    The Pittsburgh Penguins...

You are very wise. I agree 100%.

When is the bashing of players going to end?

It happens EVERYWHERE. Over at LGPens, it usually it is usually Whitney, but until last night (because Whit is hurt) it was Staal, and now he's the Greatest American Hero...from Canada!!! You can almost hear the theme music.

Will they break the Lindstrom Line for Z? What about Hossa? Isn't it kind of standard line that they all know Captian Linstrom is the max? I do love the fact that you guys have players that get it. Take a little less stay for a winning ride. Sid did, Geno, Orpik, MAF (kinda), hopefully Staal we are starting to follow your lead and example. How about we pencil the Pens and the Wings in for the next say 5 or 6 Cup Finals and screw the rest of the league?

Doesn't that sound a little dangerous? A guy like Z could get offered the world by a team ...well, like Edmonton. Now why would he pick the Oilers over Wings? I get it, but going back to my original question and the Rooster Theory.

    The Pittsburgh Penguins...

Come on folks...you are generally reasonable and knowledgable hockey fans. Sitting in my Family Room watching the game last night, I almost threw up for the better part of the game over all the gushing they were doing over the Wings. You guys are a tremendous team, without question the most talented on paper and probably (with the exception of Osgood) on the ice, but to say that they were gushing over the Pens? Could there have been 2 feeds for the announcers? Everything that happened happened because the Wings WILLED it to be that way when things were going good, and when it got bad the Pens were getting lucky. It was painful to listen to. The only time it has been qworse was when we played the Flyers. Comcast owns both Vs. and Philth-a-delphia... now that's brutal. I love my (and no I don't own them) Penguins, and I know that the only way to be the best is to beat the best, and last night that is what happened. The Pens faithful are hoping that we meet again in the Finals this year, but until then it's a grind.

Is there any concern in the Wing faithful, that the addition of Hossa might push Z to FA, even if it is just to see what is there? Not saying it will happen or that I hope it would, but the too many roosters theory? Z is one of the top teir guys in the NHL, Datsuyk too, Linstrom, now Hossa... \ Just asking.

    Would you trade

I am with the majority here, saying NO WAY would a trade for both be even close to a good deal for the Wings, but to think that a trade 1 to 1 would be anything but a dumb trade for the Pens is dilusional. Crosby is a better player today than Z or Datsuyk. And it is important to know I think the world of both of those guys. Just thought I'd add a perspective from Pittsburgh.
