Just wanted to know...AFTER the wings hoist the cup...when will the parade be held??

Hi Guys I am visiting Detroit in November to catch a couple wings games. I keep hearing how bad it is to stay in the city there...for safety and such. I just wanted to hear some opinions on some things: 1) I am staying at the Marriot Renassiance...I think it's close to the Joe...what is the area like? is it a safe area? 2) I am from Canada and have never been to an NFL / NBA game. The week I am there, there is only 1 NBA game and 1 NFL game.....and they are both on the SAME day...NFL game is at 1:00PM and NBA game is at 6:00PM...is it possitble to make both ??? Not sure what Detroit traffic is like on a Sunday. I know someone else posted about going to Detroit from NY. I tried to add my post there but was not getting any replies...Thought I would try a new posting

Hey All, Thanks for all the info! Took notes of the places mentioned in all the responses! There seems to be alot of good food places to check out...the feather bowling seems different, never even heard of that before. Also, how is Cheli's Chilli Bar??? Being a hockey / wings' fan I feel obligated to check this place out !! Plus there seems to be alot of eatery suggestions, what about tourist things? Any places that is cool to check out?? Hey Guys...I too am coming over to Detroit to catch a couple wings' games... Im staying at the marriot Renassiance....any tips or opinions about that area?? Staying in Detroit is not sounding very inviting right about now....
