    McCarty agrees to 1-year contract

LOL... I know. But when we saw him at the slots, it was at least a penny machine. And at the tables, it was only a $1-2. He did win a couple hundred from what I saw. To be honest, I'm sure the casino up there gives players money to play anywho. I know they did that in Mt. Pleasant. He was playing small ball, then left fairly early and said it was time to bail. If it's any consolation, he was only drinking tea with lemon. Again, it was just fun to see him. I've always liked the guy a ton and am glad he's back on the team. And for the record, I only wanted to say that he was very sociable and kind and I wished all players could represent their teams the way he was. So he likes to gamble... I do too, which is why I was there. Winner-winner, chicken dinner

My wife and I got a chance to play poker with Mac last weekend in TC at the casino. I was sitting next to him, so I talked to him for about 45 minutes. He said he is really excited to be back again and ready to make another run. He said Hossa has been a great motivator as well. Mac was kind enough to sign my wifes jersey too. We knew they were in TC and figured we may see somebody at the casino, so she wore her McCarty jersey. When we got there, we were standing at the bar when a guy walked up and told us McCarty was playing a slot right around the corner. I walked over and asked if it would be any trouble to sign my wifes jersey. He said "Not at all". I told him I needed to grab a pen, but he said he had a marker on him. She was thrilled. We thanked him and he shook both of our hands. Later we again met up with him at the tables. Darren was a good sport and fun to chat with. I wished all athletes could respond the way he did. I guess Liddy was there too, but we never got a chance to see him. We did see Homer at a bar downtown that night though.
