I never actually hope for injuries, but if there was a rash of long term injuries and teams needed, say, a Sammy type forward, I'd make a REAL good deal to get him walking. IF he would allow it, cause he GOT NTC. Maybe when Lupul gets hurt again this year he can call the Leafs and have a new forward ready for Saturday night.

Great article and exactly how I feel about the situation. Frankly I don't blame Tatar for being pissed. He's certainly earned a spot. Waited long enough. Did everything he could do to show he belongs. Stop signing old tired forwards, Kenny.

WTF is up with the Cleary signing? We already have TOO MANY FORWARDS!!! We are OVER THE CAP! And he STILL had to be signed? My God. I can't, and won't, support this move. We are going to lose a more talented player (and I don't know who) because we just had to have ALL OF THEM. They are hockey players, not Pokemon.

It appears the Flyers are planning on a very competitive training camp. Last week it was veteran defenseman Hal Gill accepting a professional try out contract with the Flyers, this week it's veteran left wing Daniel Cleary. Cleary signed a PTO with the Flyers Tuesday and will be in camp with the team Thursday. This likely means the Flyers will not bring Simon Gagne to camp on a tryout. If the Flyers want to sign Cleary - or Gill for that matter - they'll have to clear some cap space first, which could be on Sept. 30, when Chris Pronger is oficially moved to the long-term injury list and his money comes off the salary cap.

They changed a few colors and a font. Big deal. They will still suck, play 6 goalies this year and be hard to watch.

That's fine if Franzen doesn't want to be "the man" and score a lot of goals. Then replace him on the scoring lines with someone who DOES want to score a lot of goals and let him be a third line mucker who doesn't REALLY skate well, isn't REALLY intensely physical, and doesn't REALLY want to score. He has tons of potential to score, tons of talent in that area and a good shot, but for some reason he doesn't want to do it. I'm puzzled.

Just letting everyone know that the NHL Network will be showing Game 4 of the 1995 SC Final vs New Jersey today from 12-3pm EST.

It makes me ill that Nyquist isn't signed yet because they "might want to bring Dan Cleary back". Consider yourselves lucky that you didn't sign him, realize you are OVER the cap, not overpay for a shell of what he once was (which wasn't that awesome to start with) and MOVE ON. Nyquist can do nothing but grow. He is exciting to watch and he makes things happen. Cleary is getting worse and makes things happen for the other team, sadly. And don't show me his stats from last year. Half of those I'm sure were deflections off various body parts.

Hate to say this yet again, but using this criteria, #16 played his entire career here, was outstanding, feared, won one cup and the motivation for a second. He deserves it. Shanahan does not, sorry. ,
