This game has been horrific. They STILL haven't figured out how to clear their own end and are falling prey to a forecheck. There is no jump, no working line combinations, and I could point at any defenseman and say they played like feces. Jimmy has been the story tonight and that story lasted less than 60 minutes.

Not being a homer, but Datsyuk deserves this trophy. When you watch the way the takes pucks away from opponents, shuts them down, tenaciously backchecks like someone just took something he OWNED, I've never seen anyone do it better. Consistently amazed by how hard he works.

Really showed me something in this last series.

I was at the game tonight, right behind Jimmy for periods 1 and 3. The Flip pass back and goal was unbelievable...WHY? You dumb....RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR... There was no one at the point, hard around and it's out. No one where he passed it to, either, except a DUCK. The tripping call behind the net looked like a dive to me, I have to say. I'm not surprised they didn't call it. And yeah, Smith looked bad. but I was SO HAPPY to see that Zetterberg shot go in! I did NOT want to see any handshaking at the Joe tonight!

Every Detroit rush seems to go the full 200 feet, starting behind their own goal. Sigh.
