Before we go throwing millions at Babchuk and Ehrhoff (who i like) don't scratch Bieksa out of that picture. He's a good young defenseman with offensive skills who was injured a little bit the last few years. Can be physical too. But Markov...no frickin way. He has a lot of upside if he's healthy, but...too risky.

The thought of this team coming back mostly intact makes me mental. Looking at this list of 2-mil and under free agents, that's a sad list. In my opinion, we have to get younger, faster, and more physical. Not goonery, but harder to play against. More Helm-like. If I could give his motor to every player on the team... What's wrong with getting assists on Dats' goals? That would be good. And Huds (10G, 27A) and Flip (16G, 23A) piled up most of their points this way, on other people's goals.

They look slower than San Jose, aren't working as hard, making the little sacrifices, San Jose seems to be controlling more of the play and the Wings don't seem to get equal time in their offensive zone. Whether that will change or not coming back to JLA, I don't know. But maybe Babcock has to pull something different out of his sleeve. Methinks they know what we're going to do before we do it.

I'm not worried about the Wings one bit and all the rest you can get this time of year, you take, and I'm not a conspiracy theorist. Just seems really strange / kind of unfair to Vancouver to schedule it this way.

I get that it's all about TV, which rules the world, but why wouldn't the Wings / Sharks series be the first to start?

Someone please explain this one to me. Wings / Sharks series starts on Friday. Wings have been off for a week, SJ has been off for a day or two. Vancouver / Nashville series starts on Thursday. Vancouver played a game 7 last night, and Nashville won their Game 6 a day or so ago. Does this not make any sense to anyone else? Why are the Wings not playing Thursday instead of the team that just finished a Game 7?

They are just trying to get the "underdog" mentality going, hell, they have tried everything else...
