I think athletes have been conditioned to give the press nothing to write about because if they say anything remotely controversial, it will be all over Sportscenter (well, not if it's hockey related) and all the talking heads will have a field day with it all day. But behind closed doors be sure that at their core, these guys are all competitors and all want to win. EDIT - just finished the whole interview and Wojo did a nice job with that one.

All the game photos of him skating that I have seen in the Hartford jersey say "GORDIE HOWE" on the back. There are some "HOWE" jerseys floating around out there, but they are all in frames and signed, could have been promo or replicas. The story of him going to Hartford was to play with his sons. I highly doubt he ever wore a jersey that just said "HOWE" in a game. I may be wrong. ANYWAY, why would you not want his full name on it? That is SO COOL. Oh, and if you get the 91-92 jersey, make sure you get the 75th NHL patch on it too. Much cooler.

He didn't give him a head shot or bury his head into the boards, hit him in the numbers and seemed to let up as he hit him. Not suspension worthy.

I think Babcock can only say and do so much, it has to come from the guys whose skates are on the ice, every shift. And a lot of players are not focused, making mistakes, standing around and not hustling enough. Granted, they are in the playoffs and they really don't have that playoff edge right now. But someone better find a way to wake them up or it is going to a long summer if they face Nashville or one of the younger, hungrier teams who are going to outwork them every shift and knock them out.

I took the blinders off the first time you said it way back in the first period. All it did was help me see peripherally. And it was still not a 5-10-game hit. Even after I took my blinders off.

Re: Wings fans still paying to see home games....They paid for it at the beginning of the year. You are also talking to the fan base that keeps the Lions on local TV every year.

The referreeing in this game has totally sucked and every one of these refs should not ref another game this year.
