For those who don't know, this is a guitar that Paul has had forever, since the Beatles, a 1964 Epiphone Texan. Epiphone is (or was) making replicas of this guitar and I am certain that he stuck this sticker on one of those replica guitars. NOT on THE guitar. You can see in the picture they ALL have the Wings sticker properly displayed. http://www.tonebendermusic.com/Vintage_Collectable/V_Graphics/EpiphoneMcCartneyAutographing.jpg Either way, it is a totally lame move. Just go out play your songs and if you are that worried about offending someone in Pittsburgh, then they are softer than ever imagined.

Nice fact checking by the Freep....his band, "The Grinders".... That's like that old dude saying, Ladies and Gentlemen, The Led Zeppelin...
-
Why in the heck did he not take the Thrashers deal for 12 years / 100 million? That's 5 less years at the same money! I guess he thinks New Jersey (yawn) is closer to a Cup and he is willing to sacrifice ever winning a scoring title or breaking 100 points a year to win one. His agent needs to be fired, today.
-
I don't know....after reading those offers the Kings threw at him...I would think he would have bit on one of those. His bad. He could be in LA, living it up, freewheeling offense...or NEW JERSEY. Plodding trappy defensive team. Hmm...

Number 8. Next best thing to a 9, and 10 is not available. Or just give him Lebda's 22 or Lilja's number.
-
Fine with me....best of luck, Brett. I DID like this guy but more often than not, I didn't.
-
So if he kept up that pace, he would score 82 points. That would have put him tied with Dany Heatley and Zach Parise for the 2010 season. Not worth 10 mill a year. I watched him VERY carefully last year. 5-6 games without a point then he would get 3. He was much more consistent in Atlanta.
-
Vlady, our "mutual friend who shall go un-named" will be there too.
-
No way he puts up the same numbers in New Jersey. In ATL he was the go-to guy and he delivered. He won't get the same minutes or the same chance to shine offensively there.
-
I think it is very uncool of Jimmy D to even BRING UP his troubles off the ice at a time like this. Just let it be, you old curmudgeon.

You will always be a Hero of Hockeytown, Bob. Rest in Peace. Thanks for spending 20 minutes with me one day talking about hockey and motorcycles. You made me a fan for life.

I can't understand why they would bring Malts back for anything other than some kind of loyalty. It's time to give more spots to younger players. Nothing that Malts provides can't be replaced by Abdelkader or another youngster.

I think it's funny that people who don't want to sign Savard because he had a concussion last year want to bring Lilja back.
-
It's a ***** when you don't have one of the top passing centers in the game setting you up for sweet chances every night. That being said, Pav is a very good passer.
-
If I could get the numbers to work, I would do this in a heartbeat. Savard is one of the most underappreciated players in the league. ALWAYS a 80+ point guy. And I am getting tired of waiting to see the potential we have been waiting to see out of some players, I will always take a guy who is peaking over someone who may / may not turn into something.

Sorry, started a new thread with the news when I saw it on Red Wings Twitter. Happy for Dino but I wanted Gilmour to get in very badly as well.
-
Per Red Wings Twitter, Dino and Jimmy Devellano in the HOF. http://ht.ly/21V5R

As much as I love Modano, the Wings need to get younger and faster, not older. I vote no.
-
Over Lils? Yes. Over Lids? No. Sorry about the one consonant difference. But he's still not coming here. The Wings seem content to merely re-sign.
-
You guys are hilarious. What makes anyone think Boston would let him go if he is so good? And if he is so good, why would he sign for the pennies we have left under the cap? And the people who would take him over Nick Lidstrom based on his ONE YEAR in the bigs? (KingMalice) Puh-leaze...
-
I agree he had an off year, injuries and all, but I also think we could do better for the money. If he were gone we could use that money to sign someone younger, faster, more productive. I know he is a fan favorite but I think this is a place for an upgrade.
-
I have always wanted to see Patrick Sharp in a Wings jersey. I was hoping this would be more of an option but it looks like they are willing to roll with the same team they had last year.
-
This is why I don't but too much stock in players until they make it here. It's a long hard road and a lot of "great" players end up on the side of it because they lose something, either the desire, they have issues off the ice, they get injured, it's just too much of a crap shoot. I will ALWAYS take proven NHL talent over "potential". Might be wrong a few times but in the end it will pan out.
-
I would just like Holland to have a little more room to wiggle so we don't end up with a Jason Williams again this year. Thanks, Nick.

I have to admit, I'm disappointed it cost so much to bring him back. I'm happy he's here, and there is no one really to replace him that's available for less. Doesn't mean I can't be a little dismayed that he didn't take more of a hometown discount. Another quality free agent can only help his chances of getting another Cup. EDIT: wrote this when Free Press was reporting a 7 mill deal...6.2 is very OK with me.
