OK, I will say this...I was at the game tonight and he had a 2 on 1 with Bert, and I told my fiancee, he won't shoot, he'll pass...and he ended up not getting a shot away, and the defender made a nice play taking the pass away. I dogged him, but he scored 2 big goals tonight and I give him props for that. If he keeps up this pace, I think EVERYONE on this board who has dogged him will stop.

You can't win an argument just because you "played the game". LOTS of people on this board played the game.

And Kovalchuk is one of the most gifted offensive players in the world...at least until he landed in New Jersey. I can think of 30 players right off the top of my head that would be better than Huds....no, wait....100 players. They haven't perfected that body-swapping technology yet, so we have to judge Hudler as-is.

I'm just hoping this experiment lasts a while so we can see if Flip is really "Second Line Talent" and so people won't say he would be so much better if he wasn't playing with 3rd and 4th line scrubs. Let's see what he can really do.

I'm just wondering if this will be the turning point for Babcock to start juggling goalies. He has always done it in the past and shown remarkable restraint this year. He's gotta be thinking about who the playoff goalie will be if we make the playoffs. Wonder who he's leaning toward?

Here is a great stat to define the two players.... Last 3 years average. Filppula - 109 shots on goal / season Hossa - 303 shots on goal / season I love players who WANT to score, there are so few in the league who play like a Ovechkin or Kovalchuk, players with a "Gimme the puck!" mentality. And Hossa can bury it. Someone once called Filppula "Pine Furniture"......no finish. -

I'm not a big fan of Val. I just don't see him having a complete game. Would have rather had Huds or Sammy, wouldn't even need to go Hossa...that just made it too easy. -
