Compliments to Drake on a good, well-written and thought out topic. The Wings are somewhat overlooked sometimes because they don't have the "Hot Young Star" like the Hawks, Pens and Caps do. However, they have managed to stay at the top of (or near) the top of the heap for close to 15 years. Whereas these other teams come in cycles, suck for a while, pick up a lot of sweet draft picks, then they are good again. I'd rather have the Wings model, but, that's just me. -
Not yet, but I'm almost ready to reach for the panic button, I hope Kenny is too.

Kindl was the man until we saw him against NHL talent.

When is everyone going to get off Rafalski? He got paid what was a good amount at the time, he was a free agent, took a discount to come here, could have made more somewhere else. That was pre-cap money.

I just watched the Don Cherry commentary...he didn't "Rip Lidstrom" as much as he was trying to pump up Dion Phaneuf. He also picked and chose the stats he wanted to accentuate, not always the biggest stats. I don't know how many Norris Trophy voters consider how many times a guy fights.

Man, I hate hearing this crew do these national games. Doc Emerick just croaks and Pierre flat out sucks. If this is the team we get for national broadcasts, no wonder the game doesn't have a favorable view in most fringe markets.

I've just always been fascinated with guys who look at hockey as fights, or ability to fight. It's a LOT more than that.

You know, I've seen shows on TV with JUST FIGHTING! No pesky hockey to get in the way, it's just fighting!

We will have to see what Leino can do from afar, since he will take off and play at home. I am not at all worried about his "potential". This team needed scoring, needed people to step up because of injuries, there was no better time for someone to show something, if they had something to show. And yet this guy was a healthy scratch. Must have work ethic problems or something, Kenny knows better than we do!

Merely a trade of convenience. We wanted to get out of Leino (cause he was a stiff) but couldn't send him down, they wanted to get out of their bad contract, we did both, cleared the space needed and Kenny got a little extra for his trouble. Nice move.

I would LOVE to see the Wings get this guy, and giving up Flip is something I would do in a heartbeat. As far as signing him long term....thats going to be tough unless Lidstrom is willing to take a big cut.

Kinda off topic, but Glencross put up a hat trick for the Flames tonight. WHERE IS OUR CURTIS GLENCROSS? The last Wings hat trick was what? 3 years ago or something? It seems if a first liner doesnt score, then no one does on this team. NO secondary scoring.

Someone earlier said "If Flip scores, you are sure going to feel stupid about that comment". I thought in my mind..."Naw, he's safe." What a boring sad game to watch. Rest up fellas. See you in LA.

Imma let you finish, and your cap numbers are all good and all that, but imma let Kenny figure it out. Kenny's cap numbers were the best cap numbers this year.
