Considering he couldn't really even be a standout at the AHL level, probably not good. But hey, maybe Florida or Phoenix or some other hockey wasteland might sign him. -
Hey, I don't blame the guy. How many here would jump at making 20% more per year for the rest of their careers? Just say it's about the money. Be honest. It's not about the Cup. It's about the money. And I will respect you more. I guess all that stuff about loving it here in Detroit and the organization was world class was just talk.

Damn. I thought Downey was God. And I agree Malts is pretty well cooked. Drapes I think still has something in the tank and some skills to offer. -
That's gotta be tough dealing with twins. "Well, HE is getting 6.1, shouldn't I get 6.1?" I would have liked to see what would happen if they only signed one of them. Those are 2 big contracts.

I would like to stop seeing Z as a shutdown forward, let the Maddens of the world do that. (Which is why I think the Wings should sign another strong defensive forward). I would like to see Z get back to being a player the other team needs to keep off the score sheet.

To me, the problem with Sundin is that he has not accepted that he is on the decline in his career, he thinks he is still a premier player who deserves those kinds of dollars. He priced himself out of a shot at the Cup last year, and I don't think he will sign on the cheap to get one here.

If they had a stronger second line center, they would stay together all the time. Obviously Babs splits them up to be more even across the top lines and more solid defensively.
