Strader did a great job today. Reminded me of old Wings games listening to him. I'm not a Doc Emerick fan but he does OK.

I've got to agree with most of the sentiments here, he is a guy with little hockey "skills" who just runs around trying to hit, and as mentioned in the posts above, hurt other players. Then after cheap shotting several Avs players to make up for their hospitality while laying on their bench, rag dolls and looks at the ref when LaPerriere wants to give him a knuckle sandwich. Don't like him, will never like him, and one of these days he will get what is coming to him. Thankfully he is in Nashville, which I believe is also known as "hockey pergatory". Or is that Atlanta?

Always liked CuJo and felt he got the shaft here in Detroit. Good to see him get 450.

If 'Dynasty' starts with making the playoffs, they are in good shape. It's been awhile since they have, they are newbies. Remember those good ol' days with Roenick and Savard and Cheli and Eddie? Ah, yes. Lost. Lost. Lost. Let them enjoy themselves and then be crushed when it doesn't happen.

That is what it is all about. The other 2 on his line don't skate with the puck or let him get open to receive a pass. When he had Dats on his line, he could play away from the puck and get it in sweet scoring zones. He needs another playmaker on his line. Someone who can carry the puck with speed and be creative in setting him up. Someone who draws the double team away from him. Period. The linemates he is playing with are good players but do not cater to his style of play or what he needs to be effective. And I would be wary of just flipping the switch come playoff time and putting them back together. Sometimes that doesn't work.

Wear a Wings jersey in each building and count the number of beers spilled on you and amount of garbage thrown at you. Not to mention the insults hurled at you. Chicago is playing great right now and they are really young and fast. They are a team I am scared of as a Wings fan. They mentioned a stat last night they have won 7 in a row. Also, the KHL just cut salaries across the board by 30%, so those NHL players they lured away with big contracts aren't worth quite the same amount of rubles.

Bobby Ryan will be picking up the time on the scoring lines. So if you need a replacement on your fantasy team, he might be the guy.

Hey, give me a team full of Shanahans and Neelys and Scott Stevens and Vladdys and Wendel Clarks and Lindros in his prime, players with size, SKILL, and SPEED who can SCORE AND knock a guy on his ass every shift. The problem is, the ones in the league now that are tough are lacking the skills. They are very few and far between these days. Show me a guy with lots of PIMs that is also in the Top 40 in scoring.

I do agree with the thought that we need a spark. I wouldnt mind sitting Malts down (he has been invisible out there, I know a lot of people love him but you gotta be honest). Put Drapes on a line with 2 young wingers who have some speed and desire and are hungry for the puck and you might see that fourth line do something. As far as goalies, well, it sucks but we're in a bind there. No one pressing hard enough to come up.

i love Osgood but he needs some time in the minors bring up Howard or Larsson. Helm, Downey, Abdelkader in on thursday, one of those 3 anyway for Kopecky. Seriously? Another case of the best players not being the ones on the roster. I agree, Kopecky has shown me nothing special to keep him around, but bringing up the farm team ain't the answer either. Try again. How about at practice, you smack a guy in the shin or call him out when he makes a lazy pass. How about we break it down and practice safe ways to get the puck out of our own end? Breakout passes that hit the player they are intended for? Laying down to block a shot or a pass instead of waving at it? How about if the forwards stop backchecking, you bench them and make them miss a shift? They have to be responsible for themselves. These are 10-15 year veterans, mostly. Hold them accountable. To each other.
