    Biggest Agitator in the NHL

I voted Ott. However, I wouldn't put him in the spot picking, cheap shot group like some other agitators.

    Kronwall Destroys Voracek

Scott Stevens was a pleasure to watch. One of, if not my favorite defenseman to watch.

    Kronwall Destroys Voracek

I didn't mean to say you said Voracek was faking. You said that players may act in certain situations. I was trying to say that simply does not apply in this case because Voracek was clearly not acting. I didnt see what the relevance was of you pointing out players might fake an injury. There is a reason the ref has the discretion, and I think the refs failed last night to stop a play that should have been.

    Kronwall Destroys Voracek

Can you honestly say or think that Voracek was acting with that reaction? Theres a reason the ref has discretion. If it looks like a player is convulsing is a scoring chance more important than securing a players safety? Staying down if you hurt your knee is totally different from receiving a damaging blow to the head that disorients a player and causes a scary reaction like that.

    Kronwall Destroys Voracek

The rules state that if the ref deems a player so injured or incapacitated the whistle should be blown. If this isnt a glaring example of that im not sure what is. The fencing response by Voracek should be all thats needed for a whistle. I just think the safety of a player who is exhibiting a common reaction to a serious head injury should stop play.

    Playoff race thread

Im very impressed at the job the guys down in Dallas have been doing. After losing Richards, I dont think many gave them a chance. They brought in guys that were considered cast offs, secondary players or spare parts.

    Kronwall Destroys Voracek

Dont care hwo made the hit or got hit, Im just glad there was no suspension. Also I think the response and quotes from Flyers is what I would hope to get form my teammates after a hit. I dont get why wings fans are complaining or making a big deal out of what was said. They never said it was dirty. They pretty much said they saw a teammate get destroyed and wanted to exact revenge for it. In the grand scheme of hockey, fighting can do that. You just saw your teammate got clobbered and injured. As a teammate I would want to stand up for the guy and let the other team know that if you do that were coming right back at you. Players dont have the benefit of the replay we have. Sometimes they don't even see the actual hit and are responding to the end result. On a side note, I really do believe the whistle should have blown. IMO thats a poor decision by the refs. If a guy shoots his arms up like that and attempts to get up and fails, you know hes in bad shape.

    3/6 GDT : Red Wings 2 at Flyers 3

Agreed 100%. I think SMith, Janik, and QUincey are all capable of winning the fight or getting the draw, however theres just no response from them. they need to go out of their way to rough up the flyers not have the flyers come to them.

Shelley is out tonight. The wings need some nastiness, not just toughness. While the wings arent the toughest team in the league, they do have guys that battle and are tough, however; they dont have anyone who is nasty out there on the ice. Rinaldo may not be the greatest fighter, but he plays a mean nasty game. Hes not afraid to throw a hard hit or cross check. The wings just play too nice. I would say Ericsson is a better fighter than anyone on the ice tonight, but that wouldnt stop much because he doesn't play a nasty game. I would much prefer to bring a Neil, Tootoo, Martin, Rinaldo. These are all mean guys who play nasty against the opponent and would respond to the antics by the flyers.

It is. We need someone out there who can at least fight back with Hartnell, Rinaldo, and the rest of them.

This is a game where we could use Ericsson's size or someone else's nastiness

    Nystrom hit on Letang

Im not sure why people say Nystrom didnt need to make that hit, his job is to be a physical presence and make the defense pay for moving the puck. In this case, should he simply have poked at the puck? Letang would have had an easy exit out of the zone if this was the case. When players make plays like that to poke a puck around or make a move around a player, the defender's responsibility is to take the body, poke checking there is rather ineffective and would have landed Nystrom out of the league if he employed this technique his whole career.
