Was this a home game or an away game? hard to tell with the montreal fans overpowering the cheers of the hometown wings fans.

It was ruled a goal by a different ref. Vanmasenhoven simply blew the play dead, so the original ruling was a goal and th video could not CONCLUSIVELY overturn it.

Yea I didnt mean it as a written rule. But complain about cross checking in front and the ref will laugh its part of the game that has become an acceptable tactic in fornt. Play any level of hockey ice or roller and shove someone in the back with the tic in fornt it will not get called. To be pissed about cross checking in fornt is silly, its part of the game.

Imo a suspension would be a joke... And yes cross checing is allowed in front of the net

Indeed that was an epic thread. Now back to the interview. A must read for really any fan who slightly appreciates fighting and the players who do it. DOwney is a great guy no doubt about it. Hopefully we see him in the wings uniform at some point in the postseason.

Yea nothing wrong with what Rivet did. Once the wings got in there and things settled down he backed off right away. He had no intention of throwing punches, just trying to save his team mate from getting a beatdown as he was pinned down. Anyway I want to see more of that form Ericsson
