Agreed however his play in training camp pre seaosn and early on with the griffens did not warrent him being in the lineup. I thought he would have come out looking better than he did to prove himself once again

Yea Leino has cooled since a hot start but he has played better than I expected him too. Hes adjusted somewhat to the North American game but hes nowhere near NHl ready right now. This is not a bad thing, hes trying to break onto one of the most deep skilled teams in the league. Hell get some more seasoning and is hopefully willing to give it another go next year with the wings. Downey and helm should be the next call ups followed by abdelkader. The salary cap does make things difficult; however I think the wings do need a bit of a shakeup nothing major.

Yea Kopecky just sucks but he did help us lure in Hossa i guess. Either him or Meech should be waived or traded for a nother foward.

I agree our fourth line needs to be shaken up. Helm should be the first in line to come up followed by abdelkader and downey. I look at alot of other team's fourth lines and they seem to be chipping the puck in the other teams zone and sustaining pressure thourhg hard skating and physical play. I have seen glimpses of this form the wings but not nearly enough to warrent thier ice time.

Yes Lidstrom was very supportive of Downey as well as Z and many others. And im sure we all loved him handing a beatdown to Laperriare after his hit on Nick.

I have to agree with you. Leino said he is commited to playing in North America and learning the game. I became a fan of him this preseason, but give him some time hell be needed next year. Downey brings an element that is needed. How much will a guy like leino add on the ofurth line? I d rather see him and helm log serious mins in GR. Ericcson also can stay another season in GR even though I think he's ready, but once again hes another player wel need next year. As far as this year there is no question downey is the one most needed.

This injury doesn't bother me at all. WIth the depth we have on D it doesn't matter. IN addition Chelios wasn't going to play on a nightly basis. Bring in Quincey.

Personally, I just want to see Quincey play agian in the regular season before we give up on him. He is a big physical defenseman who isnt afraid to drop the gloves, and deserves one shot. I would prefer him over Chelios as well

I am not a Sammy fan by any stretch but he does deserve to be in the lineup. He does not make much 1.2 mil. I think we can cut him loose after this seaosn then give the younger guys a chance as opposed to this year. MY one problem with him is his lack of physical play for his size. Other than that I like him on a third line role, just wish he hit more and shot less. I can live with him on the third line, I think hes a pretty good option for our third line.
