As I said in my edit after you quoted me I think we disagree over the amount of supplemental discipline and the acceptable level of cheapshots we can legislate to in our game. I have a higher tolerance for them than you do. As I said the level the league is at right now is fine with me and you want a further reduction

Yes I do because that has already happened. I am just not on board with the idea that cheapshots and fighting will fall to zero right now. And I do not believe the league needs to take further active steps to decrease these things. I believe the supplemental discipline as it is right now is effective enough I think you do have a difference of opinion with the baseline that I have. I also believe there is a baseline that fighting and headshots will fall to under the current system I'd say fighting is nearing it's bottom as we speak and I have no problem with the level it is now. I do see those as a problem but I understand that hockey will most likely never be able to be concussion free. My question is do you think it still needs to be drastically reduced immediately? Or allow the evolution you mentioned before to continue? If you feel you need to police the game as a fan that's fine and I can respect that. If you are acting as a watchdog for the players and feel you should then good on you. I just don't see the problem within the league the nhlpa or fans as a whole to radically address what you see as a problem.I'm not gonna sit here and insult you as you take on what you believe is a just cause to change the way the game is policed. I have no problem discussing how you would make changes and implement them again something that legally is not that easy to do

I think you're overstating how easy it is to increase fines within the cba. While you may say the nhlpa has little power when it comes to the lockout I would disagree with that. Obviously the nhl has more power but any league will. Also my point remains that I do not believe there is enough of a drive on either side to change the current practice. Poll after poll shows there is no split on fighting within the nhlpa it's very much in support of fighting. Again I never said that the best way to deal with cheapshots is to fight. I like fighting and I like seeing stand up for themselves. This does not mean by fighting it may mean taking a number and clobbering the guy with a clean hit later. If you don't want that in the game idk what to tell you.

I also believe the nfl treated concussions much worse than the nhl did. The nfl deliberately misinformed players as to the risk of concussions. There is no evidence the nhl has done anything like this.

No I'm not conceding that point there's countless cheap plays that go I flagged that lead to later fines. Similar to the nhl. I just realized it's not worth trying to talk to you about it. But where did I ever say it was a better system or anything of that nature? Or the other things you accuse me of? What I want to talk about and flush out with people is how difficult it is to implement the system you wish.

The nfl still has an epidemic of guys killing defenseless receivers. Still has guys chop blocking. I also think the nhl will always have the dirtiest amount of plays because the game is so fast but also because of the huge difference in size between some guys. Lol of course you put words on my mouth as well saying that i think it needs to work 100% Have you ever thought that these huge fines haven't been implemented because there is not enough of a movement within the league and nhlpa to implement them

My question is does he think the khl is creative? Because that is some of the most boring and hard to watch hockey I've seen.

I do not believe this has happened in any other sport with success. You still have guys blasting qbs and wrs. Still have people stomping on guys. Also mind you this is hardly an easy thing to make happen the nhlpa would certainly be against it. I do not believe that fines can be made substantial enough for there to be a noticeable decrease in dirty hits. I like fighting because I like to see people stand up for themselves.

I forgot about glendening but would agree with your statement on him, I'm a fan. Ericsson is definitely one of the few on our team who says enough is enough and does something about it.In my opinion it seems that miller has gotten less and less noticeable each season. Is just prefer a Matt Martin Chris Neil and many others in his place I would also agree that it can be difficult to get those guys unlike miller who was waiver wire fodder

I'd counter that argument by saying that many of the players I want do not take bad penalties and often times when they do it's a matching penalty making it 4 on 4 which is a situation I think the wings should excel in

I will agree that he is a good and valuable part of the penalty kill he is extremely replaceable even strength

The wings can be tough to play against zetterberg and datsyuk can lean on you all game or hit you. Abs has some jam to his game. I don't think were the softest team per se in the league. Ericsson certainly can get nasty when enough is enough. What I do think we lack is someone who is mean. Someone who looks to run you hard into the boards most of the good teams in this league have some one who constantly shows their anger we do not

I think getting rid of Weiss would be very difficult. Quincey deserves to stay as well. Would also like to see miller removed and replaced with someone physical

Good to see him back up wish we could get rid of some of the slugs on this roster to give him a spot

I don't think he breaks down plays well anymore he was always behind some upper echelon guys previously but he seems to have become more a fan than an analyst
