    Redwings flashback: 2002

At home, listening to the game on web radio and being careful not to wake up my parents with my whispers of joy (never heard such loud whispers in my life) and that unmistakeable noise a cork makes when it pops.

    Post-GAME 1: Red Wings 2, Ducks 1

Wow! That's what I call a true playoff win! Gotta go to sleep now... Wake up call in 3 hours! But it was definitely worthy! GO WINGS!!!!!

    Post-Game 5 (5/5): Red Wings 4, Sharks 1

What a great game!!!! It's not over yet, but I'm going to be proud of this team anyway. Strong defensive play by Lilja and Quincey, and Lids looks like he finally picked up his game. Now I just wish Dats and Z started to show up on the road. If they do, we are ready for some Duck. CHEERS FROM MILAN!!!!

    Post-Game 3: Flames 3, Red Wings 2 (4/17)

I agree, but that's not the point. I don't think the Wings are being persecuted by officials... I just think the quality of officiating has been very bad so far, reaching its lowest in this game. For NHL PLayoff hockey it was just unacceptable. I'd just like my mood to be determined by players and coaches, instead of referees!

    Post-Game 3: Flames 3, Red Wings 2 (4/17)

:nonono: That sucks.... I never thought we would sweep them, and this game was the most likely one to lose, but it's the way it happened that disgusts me. I've been watching hockey (NHL and European) for 15 years, and I'd never seen such disastrous officiating, not even here in Italy. Congrats to Calgary for the W and the good effort, but I think it's in the interest on both teams (and all their fans) that officiating be at least on a decency level. We're talking about NHL Playoffs, damned! It's only one game, and I'm still optimistic about this series, but it kinda sucks to get up at 4 o'clock in the morning to watch a hockey game and realize after two hours that you're actually watching a different sport you don't know the rules of.

Non-Michigan fans: How did you become a Wings fan?

I live in Milan, Italy. I started following US sports as soon as our private networks started covering them, in the late 80s. In 1993-94 they began showing a lot of NHL, and I absolutely fell in love with that Detroit team (I actually broke a finger punching the wall after that horrible first-round exit against the Sharks...). My adoration for the Wings has been growing stronger ever since, and I do everything I can to see the games - I actually got up at 1 am to watch game-1 last night.... GO WINGS!!!!

4/1 GDT: Red Wings @ Blue Jackets

On SopCast, the NHL3 Channel is showing a tennis match with French commentary... is that normal? Is it going to be taken care of? Or do I have to listen to the radio, as usual?

3/24 GDT: St. Louis Blues @ Red Wings, 2:00 PM ET

Apart from the seriously mentally challenged refs, am I the only one thinking this whole SO thing is just total BS? What's wrong with old fashioned ties? We would've earned one point anyway, but we wouldn't have assisted to such a depressing show,,,
