Williams will get anywhere between 1.4 and 1.75 per. Grier will earn himself a deal between 1 and 1.3 per. If Sundin plays, he will get anywhere between 3 and 3.5 per.
-
Bring on Williams.
-
You are so far off with those numbers it's unbelievable.
-
I can't believe the majority of this forum would complain about Williams potentially re-joining the Wings, only to have someone turn around and suggest Kyle Wellwood would have been a good fit. If you want a player who is as lazy as they come, useless in the corners, and has no care for proper conditioning, look no further than Happy Meal himself. Wellwood is a slob.

For the right price, I wouldn't mind Williams or Sykora here.
-
Dedication at its finest.
-
Feel free to suggest another affordable third line option with a decent scoring touch.
-
1.5 million per or less, and I would welcome Williams back with open arms. Tomas Holmstrom - Pavel Datsyuk - Henrik Zetterberg Dan Cleary - Valterri Filppula - Johan Franzen Ville Leino - Darren Helm - Jason Williams Kirk Maltby - Kris Draper - Mike Grier If we could start the season with those forwards, I'd feel confident in our chances.

There's no way we offerred him 2.5 million. I don't believe this for a second. EDIT: With that said, I wouldn't mind Williams back in Detroit. His 29 points in 39 games as a Jacket to finish last season were fairly decent, and that was him playing with worse linemates. However, 2.5 is too much.

Good riddance. Bring on Kotalik or Moen.
-
I'd be happy to see what Kotalik could do in Detroit.
-
Moen or Kotalik.
-
Reports are saying the TSN story (at least the numbers) are false.
-
If Huddles doesn't want to play for this team, or in the best league in the world, then by all means, good riddance. With that said, this actually makes me fairly happy. I hope we can use this cap space, assuming the reports are true, to ink a guy like Travis Moen.
-
More than confident in Leino to pick up the slack, assuming he is given proper ice time and linemates to work with. With that said, I would much rather replace Hudler's 20 odd goals or so with a gritty 10 goal forward to fill out the 3rd or 4th line. The problem last year was not scoring goals. We scored more than enough goals. The problem was how many goals we allowed the opposition to score. With improved defensive, and an effective line out to wear down the opposition, we will be just fine. This is where the likes of Travis Moen or someone similar comes in.
-
Kovalchuk does not give a s*** about playing defense, so no thanks.
-
We went to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final. I swear, some people here are borderline mentally handicapped.
-
I would take Eager or Ladd over that pylon any day of the week.
-
Rumor has it Heatley has waived his NTC and approved the trade.

Who ever said we're going to lose all three of them? Nobody has confirmed that Samuelsson or Hudler are going anywhere, so for the time being, assuming the reports regarding Hossa are true, we've lost ONE finesse player. With that said, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Rafalski, Filppula, Leino, Franzen, Lebda, and Meech are all primarily finesse players. Yes, a few of these players, particularly Datsyuk and Zetterberg have a grinding aspect to their game, but they are offensive-minded players first and foremost. As for the rest of the team, with the exceptions of Cleary and Helm, none of them can be considered very effective "grinders," so yes, in comparison to the limited number of true grinders we have here, we are full of finesse-first players.
-
Cogliano would hurt to lose, but that's the type of sacrifice you make to land a proven scorer like Heatley. Penner and Smid, on the other hand, are easily replaceable. If it happens, I see this as a good deal for both clubs.
-
The problem is we're full of finesse players, and not enough grinders.

I would love to have Knuble or LaRose here.
