The Red Wings will come out flying tonight and brutally punish the Stars for letting them slip past us early in the season. Dats, Zatta, Lids, Kronner, and Stu will all put pucks past Turco, and Homer will have one disallowed. Unfortunately for the Stars, the refs bias won't matter in the end, as Ozzie only lets one squeaker off the stick of Modano slip past him, and the Red Wings cruise to a 5-1 victory on home ice.

That's game. Flames win!

Andrew Peters.

Uh oh, Mike Grier just scored a shorthanded goal for the Sharks. 4-2 now.
-
Great game by our boys tonight. It took us a while to get it going, but we prevailed in the end. Mason is an excellent goaltender, and Conks played great tonight. Keep it up, boys!
-
On another note, Quincey just scored for the Kings to tie it up against the Ducks. Go Kings!
-
Hahahaha. Right on. Just like when the Wings trampled them in December, this game just goes to show the people in California that the almighty Sharks aren't as unbeatable as everyone seemingly thinks they are.
-
If you look around the first couple pages of today's GDT, I posted saying that with a Wings victory hopefully we can pick up two points on San Jose tonight, as I had a good feeling the Flames would beat up on the Sharks tonight. As it stands, it looks like I was right. Go Flames!

Nobody's denying that the Capitals are a very good team, but they do benefit from a terribly weak division.

I have a good feeling the Flames will knock off San Jose tonight, so hopefully with a Red Wings' victory we can pick up two points on the Sharks tonight.

The Wings will come out hard tonight and eventually wrap this one up by a 3-1 score. Mason keeps it close, but early goals by Hossa and Zetterberg leave the Blue Jackets scrambling. Columbus manages to pot one in the second, but the Wings do a great job of protecting the puck and their lead, and they manage to dump one more into the empty net when Mason heads to the bench.

Not a single player in the NHL is perfect, but Hossa is close. He can't do it all, but he nearly does.
-
When Sundin joins the Canucks, Vancouver will take a stranglehold on their division.

Not that location matters much surrounding a situation like this, but I live less around 15 minutes away from Whitby, and I had a chance to see this kid play in the past, so this hit me particularly hard. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends.
-
I do, and I can confirm those thoughts. I grew up with a player who currently plays for Chicago's AHL affiliate who has told me Eager is one of the most idiotic people he has ever met.
-
No, he hasn't. He's a pessimistic f***.
-
This team needs Darren Helm, and the sooner Babcock and company realize this, the better.
-
Watch the games online. It's not a half bad experience, though obviously nothing compared to in person or on television.

Boston, Philadelphia, and Montreal (in that order) are the three best teams in the Eastern Conference. Those three teams will each win their respective decisions and will all do well in the playoffs.
-
LONG LIVE DATSYUK!
-
lol NHL.com has the goal credited to Stuart.
-
Is anyone watching the Leafs-Stars game? Dallas is leading 7-0 midway through the 2nd.
-
PP is on fire tonight.

As usual as of late (I have been way too busy recently), I won't be around here to appreciate the ass-whooping that is coming the Kings' way, but I thought I'd offer my two cents before I head out for the evening. Detroit will take this one 5-1 on another strong performance by Conk Block and the team in general. The goals will come from Hossa and Hank on the power play, and Homer, Mule, and Kronner will all pick up even-strength markers. Do it, boys.

Just win. That's all I ask.
