No. Dom was a long ways past his prime, and he wouldn't be the answer today.

Lucic is hands down my favorite non-Red Wings by a longshot. He hits, he fights, he scores; he does it all.

We might look a bit sluggish, but I still think the Wings will take this one easily. 6-2 Red Wings on goals from Hossa x2, Datsyuk, Samuelsson, Franzen, and Kronwall.

Talk about an exaggeration. We aren't playing great, but Hossa, Zetterberg, Hudler, and Franzen (for the most part) played hard and very well tonight. If we can get a consistent amount of effort out of most of the team every night, there is no need to worry.

True, but Darren has his whole career ahead of him. Maltby, on the other hand, has earned his spot on this roster. EDIT: Not to say that Helm hasn't, but you know what I mean.

How about our 3-1 win against the Hurricanes early in the season? I thought our defense was above average that night.

He isn't here to play a flashy or exciting role. He's here because he works hard, kills penalties like a beast, and is an experienced, capable fourth-liner. I don't consider myself a huge fan of his or anything, but people need to give Malts a break.

On the other hand, we only allowed 18 shots on goal, which can be attributed primarily to our defensive play.

Despite a few sketchy plays, the Wings managed to play more of their game tonight. We outshot the opponent heavily, proved we can put pucks in the net, and managed to control the play. Not to mention, our defense wasn't horrible tonight, either. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't great, but I'll take it.

Horrible officiating, but nice to see us pick up a win. With the exception of most of the first period, tonight's game was a big step in the right direction.
