I'd take a look, but I'm perma banned from all of HFBoards.

You answered your question yourself. The team just came off of a lengthy, grueling road trip, so a near weak's worth of rest was scheduled to give them a bit of a breather before playing again.
-
Beats me. I would imagine it was because I wasn't very nice to other members.
-
I'm too lazy to browse through the thread, so bare with me. How did Meech look tonight? I wasn't able to tune in.
-
Not a bad mask, but I'd prefer it if he had used red as a base color as opposed to white.
-
I know we just game off of a grueling road trip, but this is going to be a very slow week with nothing to tide me over until Saturday when we face the Devils.

Nice to see the Wings pick up two points. EDIT: I'm surprised that message went through. I was banned, but apparently I am not anymore.

Thrashers lose Bogosian to broken leg Thursday, 10.30.2008 / 5:40 PM / News Associated Press NEW YORK - Atlanta Thrashers defenseman Zach Bogosian, the No. 3 overall pick in this year's draft, will be out indefinitely with a broken left leg. A spokesman for the team said Thursday the injury won't require surgery. The Thrashers did not immediately announce plans to replace Bogosian before their game against the New York Rangers. Bogosian was injured when he was slammed into the boards by Philadelphia's Darroll Powe in the Flyers' 7-0 win in Atlanta on Tuesday night. He did not return to the game.

People shouldn't ask questions if they don't want answers. Naturally, there's going to be some players in any sport that are superstitious, and obviously the media will focus more upon the ones who are rather than the ones who aren't. I mean, would you rather read articles about players who aren't superstitious? What's so interesting about that?

I don't understand what's so funny, but as I already said, if you don't believe me, that's cool.

What do I have to gain by lying? Obviously, I'm not going to sway anyone's mind on here when it comes to this topic of discussion. I just wanted to share my thoughts and my experiences with friends of mine who were lucky enough to make it to the NHL. I won't spend all day explaining how I know these people, since it's no skin off my back whether people on the internet believe my story or not, but here's a quick taste: Adam Foote's dad has been very, very close friends with my dad for as long as I can remember. Adam owns a cottage that he stays at during the summer on the lake in the town I live in, which I have been invited to multiple times. Bryan Bickell (a Hawks' prospect playing for their AHL affiliate, in case you weren't aware) and I grew up more or less attached at the hip, and he lives less than a minute up the road from me. I developed close friendships with Arnott, Del Zotto, Primeau (and others I listed, who I already can't remember) during their time playing for the Oshawa Generals, a team I've supported since I could walk. Is that enough? I won't bore you any longer. EDIT: Also, call them? Get real. Perhaps if I was 13 years old and needed to win an internet discussion, I might, but I've grown up. "Hey Adam, some guy on the internet doesn't believe me that you don't believe in superstitions! You still don't, right? Right?!"

Please ship Lebda to anyone that will take him off our hands.

Thanks for the heads up.

Marc Savard, Wendel Clark, Eric Lindros, Adam Foote, Bryan Allen, Wayne Primeau, Michael Del Zotto, Bryan Bickell, Brett MacLean, Jason Arnott, and the list goes on. The aforementioned players (though some are now retired) are merely the ones I consider close friends. I assure you none of these players put any sort of substantial stock into any sort of superstitions. Believe what you'd like, but of all the players I know, their feelings are always the same. I highly doubt that is a coincidence.

I'll throw down a vote for Conk Block.

Tradition, and a chance for players to have a little fun and let loose.

You need to look at this league from something other than an anti-Red Wings perspective. Who in their right ******* mind picks the arguable favorite to repeat as champions to lose nine out of ten games?
-
Yes, I do. Why is that so hard to get through your thick ******* skull? We are an elite team coming off of a league championship, and yet for some reason, it's "stupid" to predict said team to win. Perhaps you've been led to believe we are a mediocre team judging by our often sub-par play as of late, but if you really think that below average play will continue for the remainder of the season, you are a complete and utter moron. I know several athletes on a very personal level, and none of them have ever paid the slightest bit of attention to superstitions, and yes, a good number of said athletes are professional hockey players. I won't name names unless you ask me to, because I'm not one for name drops, but the whole superstition and sports connection has been blown so far out of proportion it is unbelievable.
-
Do you not understand why people think you're a ******? You've picking the defending champions to win only one game out of the last ten. What is wrong with you?
-
That's fine, but superstition is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard of.
-
Nonsense. Conklin will get a SHUTOUT.
-
Hollweg is a bit of an idiot, but a part of me has a ton of respect for the guy. I don't respect him from for any of the cheap shots he has delivered in the past, but more so for the fact that even though he is a terrible, terrible fighter (which he knows he is), he rarely hesitates to drop the gloves with any opponent. The guy has balls, I'll give him that.
-
3-0 Red Wings. Conklin with the shutout. Goals from Hossa, Cleary, and Lidstrom.
-
Holland's "blunder" brought an elite forward here who is leading our team in points.
-
Ozzie has not been brutal, not has he been great. He's been somewhere in the middle. I love Ozzie, but I would like to see Conklin play a few more games.
