They have Pierre LeBrun from Canadian Press on right now who is over in England covering the Ducks/Kings. Ducks named Pronger their captain today.

Mike Myers is currently making a hockey movie called The Love Guru (set to come out in Summer 2008). Anyways, he's using former NHL players for the hockey scenes, two of which are Bob Probert and Jamie Allison. Probert plays an L.A. Not totally confirmed, but it looks like the Toronto Maple Leafs have placed Scott Clemmensen, Jay Harrison, Simon Gamache, Tony Samelainen & Derrick Walser on waivers and have released Bryan Muir and Bruno St. Jacques from their tryout contracts.

It's also fact that he only plays effectively for Maurice.

The organization is pretty excited about him. They said on the day they drafted him that they had him pegged as an early-to-mid 1st rounder, so they were ecstatic to grab him in the 2nd round.

Probably either Jiri Tlusty or Nikolai Kulemin. Both will be on the team next year.

Antropov works well with Sundin and is nearly impossible to knock off the puck in the corners, just like Ponikarovsky. Those two are pretty interchangeable. Antropov keeps Sundin out of the corners in those battles for the puck, which is very nice. With Blake and Sundin on the line, Antropov isn't relied upon to carry the puck down the ice at all, so he isn't the liability that he could be. Still, it would be nice to find somebody of higher quality to play with Sundin and Blake. The defence is actually pretty good, is fantastic at moving the puck and joins the rush quite often. They gave up the 8th fewest shots in the league last year. Defence wasn't a problem....goaltending was. Whether or not Toskala is the answer remains to be seen.

He's already bought a condo in Toronto and the wife and kid are coming over in the event that he makes the Leafs. It's a bit of peculiar situation, I just think it comes down to him not wanting to play in the AHL, like most European players. Whether it's money-related or whatever, I'm not sure. Of course, it may just be a ploy by Stralman (and quite probably, his agent) to give the Leafs extra incentive to keep him on the big squad.

Yeah, he's got a wife and infant child and I think he'd rather go to Sweden and make six-figures for the year and play in international tournaments and the such. I think the Leafs will make it abundantly clear to him that he's the first call-up and he won't be playing the entire year in the AHL, if it comes to that. The Leafs have toyed with the idea of keeping 8 defencemen,which I assume would be in the event that Stralman puts up the ultimatum that he stay in the NHL or go back to Europe. It remains to be seen.

I'd say that while that statement seems ludicrous on the surface, the kid has the potential to be that good. He plays a game very similar to that of Lidstrom and handles the puck on par with Kaberle right now. He's played three exhibition games and was the best player on the ice for either team in two of them. He's got some adapting to do to the NHL game (angles, play in the corners etc.) but he has all the makings of a very special player. I'd say he'll start the year in the AHL purely based on numbers, but he'll be a regular in the NHL by the end of the season. They just won't be able to keep a kid with that much talent in the minors for very long. While I don't see him being on the level of Lidstrom in the grand scheme of things, he should be a top-pairing kind of guy. He just turned 21, so the next few years will tell the tale on Anton.
