The Leafs defence was fine (8th fewest shots given up), they had no confidence in Raycroft. He gives up at least one softie per game, usually at the worst possible time.
-
He's got two years left at $2 million/per.
-
Sportsnet.ca no details yet.

Depends on a little thing called chemistry. Anything can happen when you throw that many new players together. They might gel, they might not. They're looking a lot better than they did a couple weeks ago, that's for sure. But then again, the Flyers always have a knack for looking better in the summer than they do in January. (Also, I think Rathje is pretty well done.)

According to the FAN 960 radio station in Calgary, the Flames have signed Cory Sarich.
-
Remember, only half of Jagr's salary counts towards the Rangers cap, so they aren't as screwed as it seems.

Islanders have signed "Mr. October" Jon Sim.

No, the Leafs dropped out of that race to sign Blake, and presumably, another winger in the $3 million range. I think Colorado is still after Smyth, and I think San Jose still has some cash to throw around. The Islanders should have lots of cash to throw at Smyth, considering all the guys they lost today.
