Allison's base salary is $1.5, with bonuses, he'll be around $3 million.
-
Apparently Ottawa had a deal in principle over the summer with Carolina to ship Havlat to the Hurricanes for Erik Cole. That was scuttled when the Heatley/Hossa trade came about.
-
Any NFL teams need a field goal kicker?
-
Nolan won't be signed by anyone until he's cleared to go from his rehab on his most recent knee surgery. He's should be cleared sometime around January or February.
-
Ference has been placed on waivers.
-
I think he needs to play with Sundin or Allison, because either one of those guys can get him the puck at will.

A Polish NHL website is reporting that the Leafs have signed winger Mariusz Czerkawski. If you can read Polish, here's the link: http://www.nhl.com.pl/ The Toronto Star reported in this morning's paper that the two sides were close to a 1-year, $500k contract. Toronto Star Article

Yes, Smyth did sign (TSN, Sportsnet both reporting it) for 2 years with Edmonton, meaning he's off the market for this season, at the very least.
-
If Stumpy said this morning on the FAN that he had a contract offer from another team, not a training camp invite.
-
He also stated a preference to stay in the Toronto area (meaning Toronto, Detroit or Ottawa).
-
I doubt it. Stumpy will want to go to a team who has at least a shot at the Cup.
-
Thomas said this morning on the FAN 590 that he had an offer on the table from a team close to Toronto and he would be acting upon it soon if the Leafs didn't at least invite him to camp.
-
This signing would have to make Detroit the oldest team in the league, wouldn't it?
-
Berezin is committed to Russia for the season, and probably the rest of his career.
-
Last I heard, Deadmarsh had pretty much written off ever playing again.
-
Leafs signed Czerkawski, invited Keane to camp and essentially have no interest in Thomas anymore. He's either going to Detroit, or the golf course.
-
Sportsnet.ca and The Score are both reporting this deal, so I guess it's official.
-
Couldn't hurt at this point, the Leafs have no depth on the wings past O'Neill & Tucker.
-
Leafs Lunch reported today that the Leafs and Steve Thomas have agreed on a one-year, $450k contract which will be finalized next week.

Not even close. They got rid of Francis (42), Leetch (37), Johansson (38), Nieuwendyk (38), Roberts (39), Fitzgerald (37), Reichel (34), Renberg (33), Marchment (36) - so far & Kidd (33). Replaced them all with younger players: Alexander Steen (21), Jeff O'Neill (29), Eric Lindros (32), Jason Allison (30), Alex Khavanov (33), Mikael Tellqvist (25) (or J.S. Aubin, whoever wins the backup job) & Carlo Colaiacovo (22). They have gotten much younger, and aren't nearly the oldest team in the league anymore. Yes, McCabe is a physical defenceman, but he's their only one. Belak? Defence? That's a scary combo for ol' cement feet Wade. Berg is as soft as a down pillow. As ol Harold Ballard once said of Inge Hammarstrom, can be applied to Berg, "He could go into a corner with half a dozen eggs in his pocket, and not break any of them!" Berg has size, and lots of it, but he rarely, if ever, uses it.
-
They need a physical defenceman badly, or else they will get royally lit up.
-
The rumour had nothing to do with Detroit or Schneider. The defenceman that Berger was referring to was Scott Lachance.
-
You want big useless Nik? Take him.....PLLLLLLLLLEASE!!!! Carlo is a very good, young defenceman, but has bad luck with injuries. Neither he or Kaberle are very physical at all, which is probably why Detroit would want them in the first place I kid, I kid. Yeah, I don't believe this one. So far, only one blog has actually mentioned seeing it, so I don't think it has legs.
