I still think he could be a decent player if put in a more freewheeling system.

He's not one of the worst defencemen ever in the NHL. Not even close. I'm not saying there aren't better options out there. But it's just a call-up of a #7 type defensemen. No need to wet your pants over it. Just seems like a cheap excuse to flame the Hawks.

Just need any reason to flame the Hawks? I think some folks have a bit of a complex regarding the Hawks.

The biggest difference I see in the team is that the bottom-six are far superior to last year's team. Good PK forwards and guys that bust their tails. Oh, and no Vesa Toskala is huge.

Foligno's hit used to be considered clean, but the new "blindside" (or "lateral") hit thing makes it a more shady play. I'm alright with a fine on this one, though that was a brutal pass. Absolutely set him up to get hit like that.

Looked like a pretty innocent play to me. Certainly no attempt to injure or anything like that. Fistric just looked like he was going to angle Franzen off into the boards and caught him awkwardly when Franzen tried to cut in.

They're 3-0, they're not going to mess with the lineup now.

They broke out the defensive shell late in the 2nd period. Didn't even attempt to create offense in the 3rd. I was shocked they held on. Gustavsson made a bunch of huge saves.

Tomas Kaberle's no-trade clause has kicked back in, meaning trade speculation involving him is over....for a couple days, anyways. Leafs sporting 8 NHL defencemen (Or 7, plus Jeff Finger) heading into camp... Dion Phaneuf Mike Komisarek Tomas Kaberle Luke Schenn Francois Beauchemin Carl Gunnarsson Brett Lebda Jeff Finger Plus younger players like Korbinian Holzer and Keith Aulie.

Maybe Schenn didn't think it was a clean hit? I don't know if anybody asked him, but these things happen quickly and perhaps he thought it was a low hit.
