It's fair. He's become one of the best players in the league. I think I heard only three players have more goals than him over the past three seasons (Stamkos, Perry, Ovechkin). He's bought into Carlyle's challenge for him to play in his own zone. Obviously, he won't win any Selke's, but he's back there doing his part. He put up big numbers now that he has started collecting assists, so you have to pay the guy in that elite category.

He has vastly improved his defensive game. He actually back checks now. Plus, it turns out he's a pretty decent playmaker, too.

Just happy to be there - zero expectations. But boy do I hope Kessel pops a few in Boston. Every team - no matter how bad or good they've been - has fans like that. Leafs fans just look like they're all morons because there's so many fans in general. I've met quite a few Red Wings fans that you would be ashamed to be associated with.

I don't think there's going to be a lockout, or at least one that puts a huge dent in the season. There's no massive divide this time around, no issues that are causing rifts between the two sides. If you recall last time around, the only thing they would say about meetings was "no progress" and that would be it. We're not hearing that this time around. It just has a different feel this time. Instead of having a whole new system to create, it's a case of tweaking what is already in place. I suspect it will come right down to the Sept. 15th deadline, but I think it will get done. It is worth mentioning that Gary Bettman has never negotiated a CBA without a work stoppage.

$7.5 million for Doan is outrageous, and there's probably a GM out there who will give it to him.

Shanny deserves to be there, and will be. Sundin lugged around dead weight for wingers for almost 13 years and still scored over 1,300 points. He took Jonas Hoglund, an absolute worthless sack of crap of a hockey player and got nearly 30 goals out of him.

They all stink. 95% (or more) trade "rumour" sites who are not affiliated with a major media outlet are pulling it out of their asses. Spector's Hockey is the best as far as compiling and commenting on the rumours, whilst shooting down the B.S. Otherwise, just stick to TSN.ca and the like. Following the Bob McKenzie's & Darren Dreger's on Twitter isn't a bad idea. Just make sure it's their actual accounts.

Robert Slaney is an absolute throw-away. He's hard pressed to make most AHL teams.

Can pretty much guarantee Corson won't be there. Borje Salming is in god-like shape, I bet he could still play. CuJo has been playing the alumni games for the Leafs this year. Brad May, too. Nick Kypreos plays in the alumni game every year at the Winter Classic because he's played for just about every team that has ever played in it.

I'm guessing the Leafs will have different ways of determining who gets first crack since they don't have 10 or 20 game packs. Probably season ticket holders (~16-17k) and then the lottery for those on the pre-sale list.

Would they be able to sell them at the premium Leafs fans will pay? This won't just be tickets at regular NHL prices, there will be a significant mark-up.

The NHL doesn't give a damn about fair, they want 110,000 tickets sold. Selling as many as they can to Leafs fans will ensure that.

They should flip a coin to see who gets stuck with Allan Bester.

The Leafs alumni line-ups always end up with a handful of guys that force you to do HockeyDB searches to find out when they played their 5 games for the Leafs. But hoping to see Gilmour, Sundin, Clark, Roberts, et al. CuJo and Potvin in net.

We'll see what we can do on this side of the border to turn this thing into a Leafs home game. Going to be a lot of fun.

Komisarek has been a lot better this year. Certainly not to where he was when he was in Montreal, but at the very least not a liability. No worries about the pool. We cut down on the number of teams, so it worked out well. And nope. No sign of Puffy.

Yes, both he and Brown are returning to the lineup for this one.
