I think the issue is that Luongo is simply burned out from playing so much hockey this year. 78 games now plus the Olympics this season. Look at the teams left in the playoffs. Most of them had a solid tandem and are now riding the hot hand. The teams that have one guy and run hard with that guy are out. Especially in an Olympic year, teams need two solid goaltenders.

TSN's Darren Dreger reported earlier today that Jerry Reinsdorf's bid for the Coyotes was hanging on by a thread, and now ESPN's Scott Burnside is reporting that Reinsdorf has pulled his bid to buy the team. City of Glendale now has to work out a deal with Ice Edge (who are apparently lukewarm on the idea at best after being rejected) or else it appears the team is off to Winnipeg for next season.

Yeah, but there's something fitting about having the Jets back where they started.
-
I think it's time to end this fiasco and get the team back where it belongs. Winnipeg.

I'm thinking something along the lines of the last time Kyle Wellwood saw that many breasts and thighs, they were in a bucket of the colonel's secret recipe.
-
He's earned them. He got away with a lot in Washington series. Plus, I'm willing to bet he played a lot fewer minutes last season with the Pens than he does with the Habs.
-
Montreal is easily the worst team that qualified for the playoffs. Just shows what a red-hot goalie can do.
-
Montreal's luck has to run out sooner or later. I'd say sooner.

According to Pierre LeBrun on HNIC Hotstove, the NHL is creating a new award for general manager of the year. The early rumours were that it was to be called the Sam Pollock Award, but that apparently is not a sure thing. The NHL is holding off on naming the trophy for now.

No, they have a new owner and have cleaned out the front office and coaching staff. Starting over with brand new staff.

Some of you obsess over the Pens/Crosby way too much.

Poni played mostly with Malkin & Fedotenko.....and besides, Pittsburgh didn't even have him until the trade deadline.
-
Leafs/Habs rivalry has died down lately because they haven't had a playoff series since the 70s. Thanks.

I don't know any 14 year old girls that know how to change a tire. Just about all they can do is text faster than the speed of light.

Teams tend to step up more when their best player goes down. Maybe the team feels the need to step up more when Crosby is out versus when Malkin is out?

Has nothing to do with Crosby. I'm a fan of both guys. I'm not one of these people that feels that to like one, I have to hate the other. Ovechkin laid an egg in the Olympics, came up empty when he had a chance to take the Rocket Richard, Game 7 tonight he played not bad, but played a perimeter game and pretty much played right into Montreal's checking strategy against him. He had a chance to elevate his game and put the team on his back and didn't come through. And granted, neither did Green or Semin. The whole Capitals team wasn't able to adjust to Montreal's checking style. They just came at them the same way with their flashy plays and drop passes and trying to score fancy goals and never adjusted.
-
Is Ovechkin starting to carve out a reputation as a choke artist? He didn't have a good year in clutch situations.
-
Ovechkin comes up empty in the clutch again. He just didn't rise to the occasion this year (Olympics, scoring title, last three games).
-
Good to hear that the rates haven't gone up.

So how come we can't play like this all the time?

It's impossible to recreate Game 7 intensity all the time.
