Just don't expect him to win.
-
No. If he clears waivers, he'll be assigned to Albany of the AHL. Once he gets there, he can be placed on re-entry waivers.
-
No, you can't. The cheapest you could get him would be re-entry waivers at half-price.
-
I would assume the referee was the first one to get to him.
-
The referee just happened to be a paramedic.
-
He would be in a hospital, being treated by non-KHL doctors, no?

Rest of story

70-game seasons aren't a huge step down. Plus, no back-ups for a good portion of those years, so he played in every game that he was physically able to.

Brodeur should have to get the next shutout without a mask on. Still an incredible accomplishment.
-
I thought it was cool to see Ken Dryden show off the old goaltending style of just kicking at the puck. How times have changed.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/2009/12/04/flyers_head_coach/ I believe it's rumoured that Peter Laviolette will take over, but that's not confirmed.

They're only involved in Women's hockey.

Gustavsson had his second ablation procedure today. It was deemed a success and he's expected back in a week.

The number of NHLers that Saskatchewan has produced (compared to their population) is fairly staggering. Of course, what else is there to do in Saskatchewan in the winter?
-
Carolina's 2009 first round pick. Don't know anything about him other than he's a power forward in the making. Tlusty had lots of chances to make it in the NHL, but never seemed to overcome the stage fright. Maybe the anonymity of playing in Carolina will help him in that regard.
-
Gustavsson will apparently have surgery to hopefully correct whatever it is that's wrong with his heart.
-
His heart rhythm got all out of whack during training camp physicals when they did that test on the bike where they peddle like hell with that mask over their face. I can't remember what it's called but they all hate it. When it happened in training camp, they couldn't get his heart back into normal rhythm until they got him to the hospital and they medicated him. They did the ablation at that time. The episode last night was much less severe and didn't require medication or another ablation.
-
Gustavsson got the win, but neither goalie is credited with a shutout, as you have to be the only goaltender to appear for your team in order to be credited with the SO.
-
My guess is Chad Johnson unless Slats has another deal ready to go.
-
The only bright spot in this is that he they were able to re-establish a regular rhythm without medication or ablation this time around. It was momentary and his heart went back to normal while he was still in the dressing room, but given what happened in training camp, they took no chances and had him go to the hospital. He was fine at the hospital and they let him go after a couple hours. He's back in Toronto today feeling fine and had a visit with a heart specialist. I would assume he'll undergo another battery of tests and they probably won't let him back on the ice until they know what's going on for sure. Kudos to Joey Mac for playing well for 40 minutes. He found out while the team was getting ready to head back on the ice that he was going in.

The Leafs have Toskala & Gustavsson hurt right now, so it might be an option for them.

Per TSN text message. Seven years, $4.2 million per year.

I'm a journalism grad, such things drive me crazy.

Ovechkin is practicing today, so I don't think he hurt his knee too badly.
