Caps have waived Michael Nylander, according to Bob McKenzie.
-
CBC doesn't have to dumb it down...
-
Many people don't realize that they haven't lost in regulation in six games.
-
Not only that, but it was capped off by a Jeff Finger goal. Those come by about as often as Haley's Comet.
-
Yep, and he won the game for them, so they're going back to him.
-
Gustavsson is getting the start.
-
I think it may be close early on, but Detroit should win with the fresher legs. I expect the Leafs to fade as the game wears on.
-
Perhaps they don't pick-up the stream until closer to game time?
-
Bill Zito.
-
I wish I still had the Ottawa Senators version of that picture.
-
Only if he allows it to happen. He has an NMC.
-
He also stood on his head and kept them tied/ahead in the 2nd and 3rd period. He had a slow start (the 2nd goal was his fault - the 1st one he didn't really have a chance on). He's a bit of a flopper like Hasek in that he throws body parts at pucks that weren't meant to stop pucks, but it works. Before somebody explodes on me, I'm not saying he's anywhere near as good as Hasek, but the style is similar at times.

Kaberle has been unreal on the PP. He has a ton of confidence right now. Beauchemin is still trying to do too much. He needs to take a step back and simplify. Komisarek was downright awful for the first 7 or 8 games. He's been getting better every game since then. He had his best game as a Leaf last night.
-
The Leafs have been vastly improved since Gustavsson returned from injury. He's the straw stirrin' the drink. They're 2-0-4 since he came back....and they were 0-7-1 before that.
-
Well, his cap hit is $4.875 million....pro-rate that over about 18% of the season completed, and it's almost exactly $4,000,000 remaining for this season.
-
I'm sure he'll be introduced to Colton Orr.
-
The actual ceremony on Monday? It's on TSN.
-
He's on regular waivers, not re-entry waivers (yet). It's a full price situation.
-
The belief is that this is to pave his way to the KHL.
-
About a $3.4 million cap hit at this point. EDIT: Make that $4 million
-
They usually don't make speeches or say anything when they're brought out on to the ice. Generally what they do is bring out a bunch of HOF'ers from days gone by, then the four or five inductees and then they do the ceremonial faceoff.

Nah, Phoenix is my 2nd favourite team, but that's only because my cousin is a scout for them. I just like the hockey talk around here, and there's probably no other team I respect as much as the Wings.
-
According to those on the Leafs beat, Gustavsson gets the start for Toronto.
-
I'm relatively sure it'll be Gustavsson in there tonight. He's the only one they trust. Leafs lines: Blake - Mitchell - Kessel Ponikarovsky - Grabovski - Kulemin Hagman - Stajan - Stempniak Wallin - Primeau - Orr Kaberle - Komisarek Beauchemin - Finger Schenn - White Gustavsson Toskala

Janik makes $105,000 in the AHL, making him require re-entry waivers to be recalled on a full-time basis. http://www.capgeek.com/players/display.php...45066&pos=D
