Given the relationship between the NHL and IIHF is already strained at best, I don't think it would go over too well.

The players don't give a rat's @$$ who gets the first pick...so to have them play a mini-tournament for the first pick is pretty meaningless. Plus, the IIHF would be up in arms if it costs them NHLers for the World Championships.

The league will put the Islanders in the outdoor game when JT is established. Bank on it. Capitals are also a strong possibility. The thought is that the league will also wait and see who Boston has a really intense series with in the playoffs and that could also determine who is in the game.

Yeah, but the thought is that they want to save Rangers/Islanders (when the Islanders have a better team) for new Yankee Stadium. Habs really don't have a venue for an outdoor game unless the roof falls off of Olympic Stadium again.

It would technically be Dion's husband/manager buying the Habs. But I hear that Molson wants back in, along with at least a dozen other groups/people. This one will be a deal in the billions of dollars.

Yeah I know they don't have to do anything, but you don't hang your AHL team out to dry right when they start the playoffs. -

I know that the Canadian Olympic Women's team plays against midget AAA teams to get ready for the Olympics and other big tournaments, so that kind of gives you an idea of the calibre of the top women's players.

Haley Wickenheiser can barely cut it in the third-division Swedish league. There's no way any woman could play in the NHL unless she was 'roided up to the gills.
