Well....Finger is from Houghton, Michigan.

Finger is laughing. He doesn't have to pay escrow.

Not an injury, but a comeback. Leafs Matt Lombardi cleared for contact, could play this weekend.

Correct, that's the speculation right now. Also, Colby Armstrong's brother Riley is signed by Yaroslavl but was not on the plane as he's attending an AHL training camp.
-
More or less. Chronic traumatic encephalopathy Tom Cavanagh
-
I don't think you need to get a concussion for repeated blows to the head to do some damage, or at the very least, contribute to existing mental issues.
-
Yes, there is a pension for players who play more than 400 games. Belak was going to be working as a broadcaster for the Predators and was in Toronto training for Battle of the Blades on CBC. He was one of the lucky ones who had opportunities post-hockey to make a living. I don't think money is a factor. I think getting punched in the head hundreds of times with bare knuckles and the cumulative effect it has on the brain is more at play here, but that's just my opinion.
-
He could barely muster up 35 points in the AHL.
-
The guy was horrible last year in the AHL. Barely noticeable at the best of times.
-
According to Bob McKenzie, Ryan Smyth has told the L.A. Kings he would prefer a trade to the Edmonton Oilers this summer.

Still some noise about Wings picking up a top 4 Dman

That site seems really good because it deletes the stuff they get wrong. -
Bowen used to games on TSN back when TSN did regional games for the Leafs, but that hasn't happened for 6-7 years. All Leafs games on TSN are national, which means it's either Gord Miller or Chris Cuthbert calling it. Maybe Bowen did CBC broadcasts way back when, but he hasn't been on CBC in recent memory.
-
Bowen is not on CBC or TSN. When the Leafs are on nationally (TSN or CBC), Bowen does the Leafs radio broadcast.

The NHLPA is investigating the Nashville Predators after concerns arose that there was a possibility the team missed the deadline for qualifying offers to a number of their Restricted Free Agents. If the NHLPA finds enough evidence, they will file a grievance requesting the players in question become UFA's. The players in question include Sergei Kostitsyn, Cal O'Reilly, Matt Halischuk, Nick Spaling and three minor league players. Shea Weber not included, so let's get that out of the way right now. He was given a qualifying offer last week so that the Preds could file for Team-Elected Salary Arbitration.

Still better than Lebda!

Looks like Langenbrunner is heading to St. Louis.
-
Leafs re-sign Clarke MacArthur to a 2-year deal worth $3.25 million per year.
-
While Ehrhoff is getting $10 million in 2011/12, $8 million of it is in the form of a signing bonus, which allows teams to get around the rules that the Talbot contract has violated. I suspect it will be one of many loopholes the NHL tries to correct during CBA negotiations coming up.

Darren Dreger says that Heatley's NMC is of the "modified" variety. He had to submit a list of 10 teams he wouldn't accept a trade to. Minnesota was not on the list.
-
So I guess Jumbo Joe gets another mulligan?

He will now work full-time at NBC/Versus. Canadian hockey fans rejoice. Will definitely enjoy the World Juniors more without Pierre talking over every big moment.
