So 127 points while winning the Selke isn't an achievement? Gilmour was a Hart Trophy runner-up in a year that many felt he should have beat Gretzky. The only thing Gilmour and Nieuwendyk are guilty of is playing the prime of their careers at the same time as Gretzky & Lemieux. -
Reports say the NHLPA has filed a grievance, seeking UFA status for the players mentioned.

Talbot's agent says it isn't true.

Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos just tweeted that Brian Rafalski will retire this week. http://twitter.com/#!/RealKyper/status/72770206837121024

With Kariya, it all started with Gary Suter cross-checking him in the head.

It's Montreal. They get their panties twisted in a bunch anytime one of the glorious Canadiens are injured in a malicious attempt to destroy the Quebecois culture. Had it been the other way around and a Hab had nearly decapitated a Bruin player, there'd be no police investigation, no Air Canada outrage. Nothing.

Barker cleared waivers, but apparently the Wild will not be buying him out.
-
No, only in Montreal.

Gonna start a twitter account finally...

@jordanmackinnon - Okay, that's me. But don't expect much hockey news out of me. Have my own stuff to take care of. I do retweet hockey news, though. -
Mike Brophy of Rogers Sportsnet believes Stamkos has re-signed in Tampa Bay for a cap hit in neighbourhood of $7-7.5 million per year.

Fedorov is not retired. -
He doesn't have enough experience. Players signing their Entry-Level Contract before the age of 20 need four years of experience before they can be eligible for arbitration.
-
I think the issue with Anthony Stewart was the worry he would file for arbitration, coming off his break-out year and all.
-
He's not eligible for arbitration.

No, I know. But most comments I have read elsewhere have been tearing the Nieuwendyk selection apart. I was a little too young when Howe was in his prime to really comment on his selection. -
That's what Photoshop is for. Besides, Tampa will match any offer sheet. End of story.

I guess they went with Nieuwendyk's goals/Stanley Cups/Conn Smythe over Oates points. -
There is no re-entry waivers during the off-season. Have to be able to assign a player to the AHL (and he has to report) in order to place him on re-entry waivers and you can't do that until training camp.

I think they'll make Belfour wait a year or two, given his off-ice antics.
