Carolina will win the Southeast, they have the same winnable game as Washington.
-
Ottawa also lost Alfredsson & Fisher to significant injuries tonight. Looks like Alfredsson ended up with possibly a concussion when he got pasted by Mark Bell.
-
Speaking of Alfredsson.....
-
I think Ottawa in general lacks leadership. Nearly every single time in the past eight years or so that this team has faced adversity in high pressure situations, they've folded up and gone out with a whimper. I don't think it should totally be blamed on Alfredsson, but he's the one wearing the "C" so a large bulk of it has to fall at his feet.

Hurricanes win, Bruins lose in OT, Flyers lose to Pittsburgh.
-
It's not about on-ice performance. I'm speaking to Emery's off-ice antics. It completely side-tracked and divided the team.
-
Two words: Ray Emery He completely destroyed that team by himself.
-
Thanks, sounds like Fletcher is going to do a pretty extensive house cleaning this summer. Tucker, Raycroft & Mark Bell will likely be either bought out or demoted. Pavel Kubina has a trade window of two months from the Entry Draft until mid-August and there's word that McCabe will ask for a trade to a New York-area team. Going to be an interesting summer.

Pittsburgh can clinch the Atlantic Division with a single point tonight. Boston & Philly can pass Ottawa with wins tonight.
-
I think Mats will play one more year, get 1,000 points as a Leaf and then he'll retire.
-
I foresee a huge logjam at 93 or 94 points at the end of the season. It's going to come down to tiebreakers.
-
He's said himself that he wants only one-year contracts from here on in so that he can re-evaluate his status after every season.
-
I can't imagine him playing anywhere but Toronto. He'll re-sign or retire.
-
Carolina & Washington should win both their remaining games to go to 94 points.
-
Very possible. There's only two points separating them and Washington/Carolina. The Eastern Conference playoff race AFTER APRIL 1ST GAMES NOTE: New Jersey has clinched a playoff spot. If Ottawa misses the playoffs, I'll have a smile on my face for most of the spring.
-
Sabres win to stay alive
-
Ottawa loses again. They're now just two points ahead of the Caps & Hurricanes. Montreal clinches the Northeast Division.

According to Montreal radio station CKAC, the Government of Quebec will introduce legislation tomorrow that will ban fighting in all amateur levels of hockey in the province, including the QMJHL. The only hockey not affected by this is the Montreal Canadiens and the Ligue Nord-Americaine de Hockey, Quebec's semi-pro goon league. QMJHL Commissioner Gillies Corteau will not oppose the legislation. Link (French)

Rask's looks a lot better.

Your team has been officially eliminated

With a four point gap, that's unlikely at best. (Caps are losing to Tampa Bay right now) -

I suspect next year will be worse than this year.
