No, the closest he came was his Hart Trophy year of 93/94, in which his 120 points was 10 shy of Gretzky.

The Rangers should be playing the Islanders in an outdoor game.

I'm wondering if TSN is going to do their own player analysis'. I'm sure they didn't like having the same player breakdown as their rival.

Gill trade not done. Held out to avoid any injury risks, also has a touch of the flu, though he would've played under normal circumstances. Don't expect Gill to move until tomorrow, likely Pittsburgh.
-
Pittsburgh, apparently. No confirmation yet.
-
Hal Gill is a late scratch for the Leafs, it is believed that he has been traded.

FAN 590/Howard Berger reports that Mats Sundin has waived his no-trade clause.

Sundin deal "all but done"
-
Not a trade, but the Flyers have claimed Patrick Thoresen off waivers from the Oilers. http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=230295&hubName=nhl

The common thought is an East Coast team because his wife is from Long Island.

They've got a pretty convenient trade-deadline "flu" going through the team

Sundin was in a meeting with Fletcher in which they were discussing which teams he would be willing to be traded to.
-
Mats Sundin has reportedly supplied Cliff Fletcher with a list of teams he's willing to go to.
-
Michael Peca was listed on Columbus' game lineup tonight, but he did not dress and was a late healthy scratch, leading to speculation that he is very close to being traded.

That's from yesterday.

According to XM Radio, Brian Burke has tabled the following offer to Cliff Fletcher: To Anaheim Mats Sundin Matt Stajan 2009 2nd round pick To Toronto Bobby Ryan Brendan Mikkelson 2008 1st round pick (EDM)
-
The TSN panel was talking that Fletcher would take acceptable offers to Sundin and would let him choose the trade to take. John Ferguson was on before the Stars/Flames game and said he expects Sundin to go to a West Coast team. The Score started a rumour that Mats would only go to Detroit, but that one didn't have any legs. Just hearsay.

I don't think playing with Swedes is a huge factor for Mats. I think that's more of a factor for younger kids who are getting used to North America. Mats has been here for 20 years. If it's for three months or so, I doubt Mats cares if he's close to Toronto. He doesn't have family in Toronto, he doesn't have kids. He'll be back in Toronto soon enough. As long as he's going to a contender, I believe Mats will pick the trade that benefits the Leafs the most. That's the kind of guy he is.

Gives him lots of bargaining power when he becomes Leafs GM this summer....
