Sturm claimed by Washington, Boynton claimed by Philly, Rivet claimed by Columbus.

Given the past three trades, he's probably got some flexibility to add a depth defenceman or something for a 3rd round pick or average prospect. There are no big rentals out there to "mortgage the future", unless you consider a trade of Brad Richards, but his injury probably makes that trade difficult to make.

Lebda scores his first as a Leaf. Only took 6 months.

$500,000 in the NHL, $105,000 in the AHL. Will be placed on waivers at noon for the purpose of assigning him to the AHL.

Numerous sources report the St. Louis Blues have traded Erik Johnson and Jay McClement to Colorado for Chris Stewart and Kevin Shattenkirk. Some draft picks sprinkled in there somewhere, too.
-
Via Bob McKenzie, the Oilers have placed Sheldon Souray on re-entry waivers.

They pretty well used it all to activate Salo. More LTIR would give them temporary space, but I'm not sure any of them are out for the year, which is the only way to make LTIR space permanent.
-
They are also without cap space to do it.

Forgetting ranking and rating trades for a minute, I've been really impressed with teams ability to keep these trades under wraps as well as they have. Really, the only trade of the past 10-14 days that didn't come out of nowhere was the Kaberle trade. That's really impressive given the information age we're in.

Has waived his no-trade clause, according to Bob McKenzie. Blues get Brock Beukeboom and a 3rd round pick.

Bob McKenzie reports the Leafs have formally asked Tomas Kaberle to waive his no-trade clause in order to trade him to the Boston Bruins. McKenzie believes the Leafs would get prospect Joe Colborne and Boston's 2011 1st round pick, though not confirmed. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/dregerreport/ EDIT: Trade goes down as follows.... TO BOSTON: Tomas Kaberle TO TORONTO: Joe Colborne, 2011 1st round pick (BOS), conditional 2012 2nd round pick

It's all over the Twitter. Canes get a 2nd rounder in '12.
-
St. Louis 1st round pick is top-10 protected.
-
Avs get a conditional 1st rounder, Blues gets a conditional 2nd rounder.
-
Uhhh....Blues beat writer reporting it. Rutherford or something? Bob McKenzie has confirmed it.
-
Kaberle will be in Bruins lineup tonight.

Blues get Brock Beukeboom and a 3rd rounder.

Blues get a prospect and a 3rd rounder.

Trade deadline day has become awful. Pretty much all you have to do is turn the TV on at 3pm, because that's when all the trades happen.
-
Leafs get Bruins 2012 2nd round pick if Kaberle re-signs or the Bruins make the Cup final.
-
Correct. Luke Schenn at 21 years old is longest tenured Leaf on the roster.
-
Boston trading Mark Stuart & Blake Wheeler to Atlanta for Rich Peverley and Boris Valabik.
-
Darren Dreger: Bruins trading Blake Wheeler (not to Toronto) to clear cap space for deal.

Without confirming, I believe now that Kaberle is gone, Giguere is the only player on the Leafs roster over the age of 30.
