people are so concerned over such stupid s***. He is a kid, ovi didn't body check him, didn't slash him. He gave him a jokingly snow shower. WAH WAH WAH! MOMMY!?!?! I still think they only sounded like that because some were saying one thing while others were saying one thing. How would Howie be any more inaudible than ozzie? or Loooouuuuuuu? or any other chant for that matter. I just think his nick name is Howie, his mask says howie his teammates call him howie. So why would WE not call him Howie?

throughout the game it was gargled. YOu may not have heard it on tv, but in person you could. My section was on board with Howie but the section next to us went with Jimmy. Now when he was announced #1 star, it was basically Jimmy's. I mean, I chanted Jimmy simply for the fact of keeping it sounding clear. Although after leaving the game, myself and the guys I was with chanted howie, howie walking in the concourse and outside. And I was stopped by at least 15 people that said "omg, I was chanting that too! But then everyone started with Jimmy Jimmy." So it seems like a lot of people were just as confused and wanted to go with Howie until it was just garbled noise.

It sounded just like noise yesterday when 10,000 were chanting howie and 10,000 chanting Jimmy. Does it sound like noise when we chant Ozzie? No.

awesome. We really tried with Howie Howie, but it just didnt catch so we had to go with Jimmy Jimmy. If he is cool with it, I am cool with it. Awesome that a crowd can have an effect on him like that! I will continue with the chant.

I am under a time constraint. I am going with 5 other guys and I am not drving. we aren't even leaving Bay City until a little after 4 so I just don't see the time working out. The octopi at Al's is frozen. I am so mad lol. I finally convinced myself and got really pumped up for it. How do you lose an octopus lol

I am going to the game tomorrow. Our boys need some support so I thought I would do my share and throw the octopi. I have been to many games (both reg. season and playoffs) but have never thrown one before. I tried searching around but can't find many topics dedicated to it. I am aware of the octoquette and the proper times to throw. I would want to do it after the anthem. Problem is, I am sitting in 226 in row 16. So pretty far. It is realistic to toss a 2-3 pounder from that distance (Nevermind. just realized that is on the wrong end of the ice) Or are they pretty good about letting you walk down to the lower bowl to toss and go back to your seat? I am going with 5 friends and am not drving, so if I run the risk of getting booted I won't do it. They sort of turn a blind eye right?

well I can't do it. I took time off work to go get it and boil it in time to leave and the market lost the 'pus. The guy that I talked to yesterday about it isn't there so the other guys don't know where he put it! ARGH!

I don't think he plans on going anywhere anytime soon. I wouldn't doubt Stevie leaving. Just because he is heavily involved with the Wings organization doesn't mean he doesn't want to further his position in hockey. As bad as it sounds, we can't be selfish about it.

I can't get a group around me since I am not sitting in the area. I am going to have to jog down the stairs toward the end of the anthem and just toss it and jog back up. Then hopefully return to my seat on the opposite end of the ice. If I go for it, I am bagging it and taping it around my leg.

good idea attaching a note. Although I doubt it would ever be seen. I am still nervous. Trying to decide within the next 2 hours if I want to spend the money and hope not to get the boot. I wouldn't want to wait until the end of the game, I mean I see it as a good luck charm and something to get the crowd riled up right in the beginning.

well, if I have time to pick the octopi up tomorrow I think I will go for it. I would really hope they wouldn't throw someone out for something that is basically unofficially endorsed. Is there ushers that will try to stop you from running down or is it pretty much a clear shot from the concourse down the stairs. BTW, a PHX player touched the octopus!
