that is an incredibly thoughtful notion by Harding

Wings have designated certain games "premium."

awesome. we have a hard enough time selling tickets to people in our state due to the economy; lets raise prices too! First Amway and now this s***? -
I wish they would just leave Dats alone. Everyday theres another interview with him. He is torn up; leave him to grieve in peace rather hash up his thoughts every 6 hours with the same questions.

I have read basically the same story on a few different sites only differing who actually brought Galimov to the shore; some say fishermen some say police (both the fishermen and police were heroic in both bringing the crew member and Galimov safely to shore) Here is the exact story I quoted: http://rt.com/news/plane-crash-site-witness-163/

Absolutely incredible. Also, can a mod or the poster edit the topic. There are 2 survivors and I find it uneasy that it states only one at this time.

I hadn't thought about it in that way exactly. You have a great point. I think players like Howe and Yzerman will forever have a resonance over Detroit. They have set the standards for all others wearing the Winged wheel to follow. It's such a hard question. Even if you minimize it to the last 10-20 years as I've done it's hard to leave so many influential players out.

Thanks, just made it this afternoon. I am also working on a few other variations. Also, reports are coming in that Galimov is able to talk and has cognitive ability. His condition appears stabilized for the time being. At least a little bit of positivity today.

Tough choice but I said Philly in '97. I just remember the atmosphere around Michigan and we were Wing nuts. I fondly remember Kroger in my town removing all of the philly cream cheese from the shelves in support of the Red Wings; sandwich shops stopped serving philly cheese steaks. Everywhere you went it was Red and White. I haven't seen that much devotion to the Red Wings since. In this day and age large companies like Kroger wouldn't dream of pulling a stunt like that.

I really hope we see him in a Red Wings sweater this year.

I'm going against the grain here; Red Wings Fedorov Lidstrom Yzerman I know I will draw ire for this but I believe these three players brought much attention to Detroit in the 80's and 90's and shot them into the spotlight. Fedorov drew in a lot of young kids with his playing style and I know when I played youth hockey in the 90's every kid wanted to be like Fedorov. Regardless of what you think of his departure he did do great things for the Wings. Yzerman and Lids are no brainers obviously. I know it said history but I don't think you can look at something like this in that large of a time frame. 10-20 year periods. Much can change and does change with each generation and you can't fairly compare players of yesterday to players of today. Just my .02.

Early speculation is that poor quality fuel contributed to this crash: http://en.rian.ru/russia/20110908/166519463.html Sounds like cheap fuel may have been used and caused the engines to fail in their ability to reach a safe rotation (takeoff) speed. You could not pay me enough to fly in Russia.

wow. I sincerely hope Salei and McCrimmon were somehow not on that plane; not to take away from the fact I would hope not a single person would have passed away but unfortunately that cannot be the case.

I think they look great. I especially like the away jersey.

If someone scammed you into killing someone it doesn't make it any less wrong if you didn't have the brain capacity to say no and walk away. Same principle; they are praying on the weak. Does that make it alright? f*** no. The official vitamin of the DRW? So now we get to see the likes of Datsyuk or Zetta pushing commercials for pills? Hopefully they set up some helpful informational kiosks inside Joe Louis trying to recruit new members to their scheme. Only $20 to hear the first five minutes about how some schmo bought a yacht!

The problem is martyr, it's not Red Wings sponsored by the Devos family. It is Amway; a crooked company that has came under scrutiny by our government and has broken peoples lives based on false promises and ripping people off in cult like fashion. The Devos family does great things for the state of Michigan but the Amway company does not deserve to be our sponsor plain and simple.
