I will be buying a winnipeg jets jersey. So much for their thought of the possibility of lost revenue. If it were anything else I wouldn't fork over a dime. The Jets brings me back to my childhood and I LOVE nostalgia. However, if they drastically change the logo I would opt for retro. I am SO happy to have the Jets back officially. Congrats to Winnipegers.

I'm 60/40 on this. 40% thinks it will be the Jets; but most likely Manitoba Jets. I am 60% in that it will be something totally new. Think about it; if it were the Jets; why would they be handing their 7th pick a generic NHL sweater?

Even calling them something new doesn't mean all sorts of merch cash flow. The only direct revenue they get is from merch sold within their own stores. All other merch revenue is split between all 30 teams. I seriously doubt they will notice any negative effects; only positive if they call them the jets. Everyone with Jets gear is just going to wear that anyhow. Sure some people will go to the arena and drop $250 on a new jersey but a majority of them will show up in Jets gear. Just look at games in places like Carolina; you still have people showing up in whalers gear sometimes and it's not even in the same location that once had a team.

This is correct. The NHL owns the rights to the Jets name and logo. Bettman has already said, if TNSE wants it; they can have it. However, I really doubt they will be the Jets. I believe Mark Chipman wants to start off fresh and build his own team and culture. I want it to be the Jets, but in this day and age of expansion and new culture of hockey; it will be something really stupid and the logo will be some cartoon fantasy animal. Winnipeg Falcons - Barf Winnipeg Moose - better than Falcons but still barf Winnipeg Whiteout - Rolls off the tongue but doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Really, the best thing they could do is call them the Jets. Merch is continuing to fly off the shelves and I am pretty sure if they take over the Jets name, they get a small percentage of the revenue the NHL has made from Merch sales.

so many other deserving teams. I think a winter classic with the Wild in Minn. would be awesome. This rotation of repeating teams is getting old. At least skip a year in between.

Fedorov will always be one of the greatest Wings to where the jersey. Sure I don't agree with how his career here ended; but I'm sure if you asked him today he may express a little bit of regret. Money does the strangest things to people. Hopefully we will see 91 in the rafters some day. He deserves it.

I started off not really giving a s*** about who one these Finals. However after it began I began to lean toward Van. only because Thomas is the only person I really care for either way on Bos. But. After that mockery show last night to top off what I had seen the first two games out of Van, I think I might be rooting for Bos. now. I think I lied to myself about the amount of dives committed by that team; but seeing the Sedins flail to the ice at every opportunity, seeing Burrows flail his head back at the slightest touch; It's an embarrassment to Canadian hockey. Players like that don't deserve to win. Then watching Aaron Rome deliver that late hit on Horton was the tipping point. He hadn't even committed to the hit until AFTER the puck left Horton's stick. Vancouver needs to go to bed along with their 113 pt. season. As far as I am concerned it was just a fluke.

well I'm drunk. I will say this in my druken stuper. Fcuk (i spell misappropriate on purpose) hudler. I was happy when he came but seriously dump that garbage. Zeta, really?;...really? You had ALL season to eff up and you do it tonight? All in all whatever.. It is what it is. We didn't show up tonight. The sharks desevered to lose; simple as that. They were NOT the better team in this series. But they WERE the better team TONIGHT when it mattered most. ***...We had it...We had history, we had it. But we didn't show up. So much for that exciting 5.5 plane trip, hope yu enjoyed it because you have another 5.5 plane trip coming back and something tells me its not going to be as fun. Wings didn't shw up. Im drunk. We didnt show up for 35% of the season and we didn't shw up when it mattered the most. I really feel like hte cup could have been it. could have been ours if we won. Well aren't you a tough guy? They went to Nashville's barn and they were fine. The fans actually had fun with them there. They were respectful and commented how much fun they had and how great the Pred's fans are. That's like condoning a Red Wing fan getting a beer shower and a "knuckle sandwich" for throwing the octopus on visitors ice.
