Yzerman Shaping Canada like the Wings

Doing it like the Wings? I think it'll be pretty hard to get a bunch of Europeans on the team.

You can hear Frasier say, "He's getting six minutes." Talking to the Buffalo bench.

    Hossa and the Wings

Well he's thirty right now. So I say they'll get him for 8-10 years.

that sounds like a penalty that would be called in the Mighty Ducks movies. Two minutes for roping?

    The Lang deal

Maybe we would have taken Johan Fransson. He went to Dallas for the 34th overall pick. I think they pick they wrong Johan. Or Alexander Elder (3rd round), and Mark Streit (9th round)

Babcock Talks About Penalty Kill Problems

I think playing in the Eastern Conference would dramatically improve the PK.
  13. I think Lidstrom is the best defenseman I've ever watched. It's all the simple thinks he does. He does do any of the fancy things like throwing hard checks or a 100 mph shot. Most guys in the league like Chara, Souray, Weber, Phanuef need to rely on those things to be affective. Lidstrom doesn't have to use any of that. Again it's the little things he does. How many times have you seen him bat the puck out of the air along the boards when the opponent tries to chip it past him. It's pretty much impossible to get around him. Just look at the last couple of games. Guys like Ovechkin, Malkin, Crosby went one-on-one with him and they lost each time.

why can't the NHL have a salary cap like baseball?

It's not fair for a team like Detroit to have try so hard to stay under while teams like Nashville and Columbus are way below it. I believe Columbus is like $12 million under the cap. Why don't they go out and get a Marian Hossa or Henrik Zetterberg? That's why the cap is in place. So Other teams have the chance to get these players. Maybe these teams should invest money in good players to get more people in the seats. Not too many people will pay money to watch NYI play Tampa.

This rule needs to be changed

If I could change one rule, it would have to do with the game misconduct penalties with boarding/checking from behind calls. I hate it when ******* like Backes pretend to be injured to get the major penalty and a game misconduct and come back out the next shift. I think that if a player gets a game misconduct, the "injured" player should also sit out the rest of the game to prove that the injury sustained was real and serious. I don't mind the five minute major for a dangerous play, but it's a shame a player gets a game misconduct for someone trying to win an Academy Award. What do you guys think about this rule change?

    Draper video clip

Does anyone have the video that Versus showed last night of Draper at the 97 Cup Celebration? It looked like he gave Illitch a dollar back for the one he spent to get him off waivers from the Jets. I was able to watch the clip, but didn't get sound because I was watching it during night class. I'm curious as to what he said.
