SI: Future Cup Final to be played at neutral site?
Blueliner replied to Antilles328's topic in General
i think it would be cool if the wings played the first two games at Ford Field. But otherwise, I'm against it. -
Summer 2010: Use Lidstrom's cap space to sign Luongo?
Blueliner replied to Reilly's topic in General
I would rather have Tim Thomas. -
McCreary has been hating on the Wings for the past few years and O'Halloran hates Detroit because he drove down to the hood, got shot, and almost died.

The Rose Bowl? Isn't there some other kind of big game being played there on Jan. 1?

I do that all the time in NHL 09...haha

You gotta love minor league hockey. I can't wait for the Walleye to come to Toledo.

QUOTE (skacore @ January 14, 2009 - 01:23PM) get rid of mandatory visors or this is just stupid you'll end up with a situation like how it is in AAA right now... when the tough guys want to fight they just end up mutually agreeing to take off each other's helmets then square off actually, from the article that I read, that would also result in a one game suspension. This is horrible. Fighting needs to be in place. I hate it when major changes are made because of one freak accident. Just because one guy died and two guys got their throats cut 20 years apart doesn't mean you have to make all of these changes. If anything, they should make all players wear cages so they don't get high sticked and result in lost/broken teeth, cuts, or eye injuries. Though I'm not saying that they should wear cages. Fighting is similar to someone joining the army. They know what they are getting into and they know the risks. It would be a problem if they jump on people without notice like Todd Brutuzzi or what Crosby did a few games ago. Injuries are going to happen a lot in hockey. And unfortunatly you are going to have serious injuries. Here's a stat from Ohio HS Athletic Association. In the last 20 years or so, there have been about 30 serious injuries. Hockey had about three or four. Football wasn't even the worst. Track and Field had the most serious injuries. Unfortunetly two players in Ohio this season were paralyzed on the same weekend. These things happen and it's a shame, but it's nothing to make major changes about. edit: wrong quote

I like how they play music that applies to the situation. Like when the other team gets a holding penalty, they play the "Hold me" song, and the "No more Mr. Nice Guy" song when the other team scores. But my favorite is on a Saturday night when they play "Piano Man" right at nine o'clock.

Hossa will be the runner-up for the Pavel Datsyuk Award (formerly known as the Selke Award).

At the beginning of the season I heard or read that Ken Holland's goal was for the Wings to win seven out of every ten games. And with 28 wins through 40 games, the wings are perfectly on pace. It's amazing that they can play that well. It's pretty hard to win seven out of ten games. To put that into perspective, if a baseball team won seven out of ten games, they would win 113 games in that season. So for all those that complain on here just think about these numbers.

they won't fold. Porter should be higher and Chad Kolarik should be on the list.

I would do this trade under one circumstance. If I was the GM for the Panthers. I hope this is a joke because it would be the worst trade of all time. Actually, I hope it's not a joke because some clown needs to realize that he isn't being funny.

This kid is doing pretty good. I saw him in Columbus a few weeks ago when they played the Kings and he looked really good. He did give up three goals, but none were his fault. They were all two on ones with perfect passing. It's too bad Columbus is absolutely horrible or else they would have a good chance of making the playoffs. I know they are right around that 8th spot, but they look like a bunch of house peewees out there. They can't pass, dump the puck in everytime, and have the worst powerplay.

Did it during the first period. He didn't even get a penalty and Peters did. Here comes the biggest suspension in league history.

Ken Holland has already said that Howard is next in line if Osgood or Conklin go down because he has experience in the NHL. Here's my prediction. Conklin will be gone next year and Howard will back-up Osgood, leaving Larsson the starter in Grand Rapids with McCollum as his back-up. Then once Ozzie is done Larsson will be brought up to compete for the starting job, while McCollum is the starter in Grand Rapids. But who knows. Maybe they'll keep Conklin around and have three goalies like the Oilers.

my bad. thought it was aaron.

I remember watching an NBC broadcast the last year of his contract and all Brett Hull was saying was that he was going to Washington to play with Oveckin and that it was pretty much a done deal. two days later he re-signs with the wings. lol

i guess we get to see if mason is up to the challenge. he did good against san jose right before we kick the s*** out of them.

nothing will happen. the only thing i could think of would be kopecky for a 6th round pick and a bag of pucks.

Does anyone know how many times Pierre had to mention how much the wind was a factor? It seemed like he talked about it everytime his mic came on. If you were playing a drinking game about it, you would have passed out by the end of the first. I wish NBC could find somebody other than him to go between the glass. He's horrible.

The girl needs to learn how to fight with the big boys. You don't just jump on someone's back when they aren't looking. I like how a ***** ass ***** is the poster boy for a league with some of the toughest athletes out there.
